SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA: Tim Walz appeared to ignore a reporter on Saturday, August 31, during his visit to the Minnesota State Fair, when asked about the discovery of the six hostages killed in the Gaza Strip.

The hostages were identified as Carmel Gat, Eden Yerushalmi, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi, and Master Sgt Ori Danino by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). They were reportedly among those taken hostage by Hamas amid the October 7, 2023 attacks, as per Daily Mail.

Tim Walz's bizarre reaction to reporter's question on six hostages found dead in Gaza

The reporter asked the question hours after Israeli soldiers found the bodies in an underground tunnel in the Rafah area of southern Gaza. It was unclear whether Tim Walz heard the question as he bid goodbye to the onlookers.

In a viral video on X (formerly Twitter), a reporter was seen asking Walz, "What's your reaction to the six hostages found in Gaza?" after which a staffer was seen telling him that it was time to leave.

Walz told the crowd, "All right, thanks everybody!" as he left the place without answering the question.

During his visit to the state fair, the Democratic VP pick said, "For those not from Minnesota, just to be clear, there's a lot of great state fairs in the country, this is the best one. I can say that having tried pork chops in Iowa. I'm so happy I got a day out here."

He also posted a video of himself on X where he was seen trying out the food at the festival frequented by local farmers. He wrote, "Breakfast of champions: pork chop on a stick."

Hamas official insists Israel was responsible for the deaths

Izzat al-Rishq, a senior Hamas official, emphasized that Israel was responsible for the death of the hostages as it refused to sign a ceasefire deal, according to Daily Mail.

A group representing the families of the hostages demanded that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "address the nation and take responsibility for abandoning the hostages."

The Hostages Families Forum wrote, "The delay in signing the deal has led to their deaths and those of many other hostages." They also claimed that all six hostages were "murdered in the last few days, after surviving almost 11 months of abuse, torture, and starvation in Hamas captivity."

Meanwhile, Netanyahu said on Saturday that Israel would not rest until those responsible were brought to justice. "Whoever murders hostages - does not want a deal," declared the prime minister.

Internet slams Tim Walz for seemingly ignoring a question about the six killed hostages

Netizens slammed Tim Walz as he appeared to dodge a question about the bodies of the six hostages discovered in the Gaza Strip.

One wrote, "This man wants to be Vice President. One of the dead was American, and he has nothing to say. Disgraceful!" Goldberg-Polin, 23, an Israeli American, was among the six found dead in the tunnel.

A person stated, "Does he think he can avoid answering uncomfortable questions for an entire 4 years? Oh wait, yeah he probably does because Biden just got away with exactly that," whereas one more remarked, "He has strict instructions to not say anything other than 'joy.'"

"Shameful. If you cannot address the fact that an American was murdered, you arent fit to hold office," expressed an individual. Another comment read, "Tim Walz is a disgrace of a candidate. He can't speak to the hostages? Disqualifying."

A netizen wrote, "Tim ran away like it was a deployment to Iraq," and another echoed, "You can tell he has a lot of experience finding an exit when the going gets tough."
