Joe Kent's bombshell revelation: Charlie Kirk warned Trump against Iran war before death
WASHINGTON,DC: A striking new claim has emerged from Joe Kent, former Director of the United States National Counterterrorism Center, who resigned over opposition to Iran war.
Kent said that conservative activist Charlie Kirk had personally urged President Donald Trump to steer clear of war with Iran shortly before his death.
Speaking on Breaking Points on March 20, Kent described behind-the-scenes conversations that he says took place in the Oval Office adding a dramatic new layer to the ongoing debate around US involvement in the conflict.

Joe Kent says Charlie Kirk warned against Iran war
Expanding on the claim, Kent said Kirk had been openly opposed to escalation in the lead-up to “Midnight Hammer”.
According to Kent “Charlie was vocal against the 12-day war. He was vocal against Midnight Hammer.”
Kent said that while Kirk later aligned himself with Trump publicly, his private stance was more cautious.
He described a direct effort to influence the president saying “In the leadup to Midnight Hammer, Charlie was in the Oval Office, he was there to lobby the president, he just said stop us from getting into war with Iran.”
Kent suggested these conversations were known to others as well, adding that they had been “confirmed with text messages”.
Kent then connected those events to what happened months later, noting that Kirk was killed in September.
While he stopped short of making a definitive claim, he raised doubts about how the situation has been interpreted since.
“Are there links? Are there more leads to run down? All of that is stopped and here we are with a nice clean narrative that we’re really kind of yelled at for questioning.”
He emphasized that he does not claim to have all the answers, but suggested that certain lines of inquiry may not have been fully explored.
Kent says Trump remains 'heavily influenced'
Turning to Trump’s role, Kent rejected the idea that the president was either naive or unaware.
Instead, he argued that Trump may have been shaped by the broader environment around him.
“I don’t think he necessarily fell for it. I think with the ecosystem that was created, he was heavily influenced.”
Kent added that while conspiracy theories circulate, his own view is more measured.
“That’s not my number one theory of the case but there is a potential that he views all of that as a deciding factor.”
He also floated a more controversial possibility, without endorsing it outright: “The alternative course of action is that he is under some degree of coercion.”
While many of Joe Kent's claims remain unverified, they are likely to fuel further debate about how decisions around the conflict were made and what may have happened behind closed doors.
