Joe Rogan reveals Trump's 'odd' messaging habits, says POTUS texts like a '79-year-old kid'
WASHINGTON, DC: Joe Rogan, in his latest podcast episode, offered a candid and at times surprising look at President Donald Trump’s private behavior, calling him a "79-year-old a kid" and highlighting his unusual texting style. The remarks came during Wednesday’s episode of 'The Joe Rogan Experience,' Spotify’s top show for the fifth consecutive year.
Rogan and guest Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, shared stories about their personal interactions with Trump, portraying a version of the president that differs from his public image.
Their conversation also touched on controversial moments, including Trump’s past comments to journalists and his shifting stance on the Epstein files.
Joe Rogan says Trump’s private behavior and texting style are 'totally different'
During the episode, Rogan recounted how President Trump often sends text messages in a style he finds both memorable and odd. "He makes the text go big, like USA is RESPECTED again in all caps, and it makes the text enlarge, it's kind of ridiculous," Rogan said.
He added that the president is an "odd guy," noting that Trump frequently reaches out without warning.
Huang, who joined Rogan in sharing stories, said that in his own interactions, the president is markedly different in private. "The one-on-one Trump, President Trump, is very different," Huang told Rogan, calling him a rather surprising figure.
Trump had previously referred to Huang as a "friend" and a "smart man," and Rogan himself endorsed Trump shortly before the 2024 presidential election.
Joe Rogan calls out Trump’s reporter insult and inconsistency on Epstein files
Despite their generally friendly rapport, Rogan did not shy away from pointing out the president's missteps. He referenced an incident involving Bloomberg White House correspondent Catherine Lucey, in which Trump, after being pressed with a follow-up question about Jeffrey Epstein, told her to "quiet, quiet piggy."
Rogan recalled the moment on the podcast, saying he found it "objectively funny," but added, "I wish he hadn't done that," noting that Trump's behavior can cross lines even when it appears humorous to observers.
The podcaster also reiterated past criticism of Trump's shifting position on the Epstein files. Rogan noted that the president had initially insisted the files did not exist, only to later announce he would release them by signing legislation. The contradiction, he suggested, reflected inconsistency in Trump's decision-making.
Rogan summed up Trump's demeanor by calling him a "79-year-old kid," pointing out that despite his declining physical sharpness, the president often behaves impulsively.
The comparison echoed remarks made elsewhere in the media this week, including on Jon Stewart's podcast, where Stewart said, "what a 6-year-old he is," adding that Trump often responds to confrontation with either "I don't know" or "you're stupid."
