LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Podcaster Joe Rogan has expressed changing views on President Donald Trump and his administration over time. In a recent episode of 'The Joe Rogan Experience,' comedian Theo Von joined as a guest, and both spoke about their disappointment regarding the situation involving Iran.

Von appeared on the show on Friday, April 3. During the conversation, they discussed the broader history of Western intervention in Iran. Both criticized Trump for actions they believe contribute to continued US involvement in long-running conflicts in the Middle East. They described this as part of an ongoing pattern of “forever wars.”

Joe Rogan and Theo Von criticize Trump over Iran war

Joe Rogan and Theo Von had been strong supporters of Trump during the 2024 election but have since shifted their stance. During the podcast, Von asked, “What do you think is gonna happen?” a day after the president delivered a 20-minute televised national address that offered few real answers on the war. “You think we’re gonna be OK?”

Rogan replied, “I hope so, of course. I don’t know. I’m confused. I can’t believe we went to this war. When we started bombing Iran, I was like, ‘This can’t be true.’” Von then brought up the situation in Lebanon, referring to Israel’s pivot toward attacking its northern neighbor amid 'Operation Epic Fury,' and asked, “And what about Lebanon?”

Rogan responded, “And it’s like, just stop it. What do you need?” He added that the stated goal was to stop terrorism. “Well, they’re trying to supposedly, they’re trying to stop the t*******s,” Rogan said.

Von reacted with a laugh and said, “That’s crazy, though. You know what I’m saying? Like, if you wanna stop them, stand in front of the mirror and start there.” Rogan has become increasingly critical of Trump over the past year, calling the Iran attack “insane” and suggesting that Barack Obama did more to strengthen the US-Mexico border than Trump.

Trump addresses Iran-US war in national speech

As the Iran-US war entered its fifth week, Trump addressed the nation on Wednesday, April 1, in a 20-minute speech from the White House. He claimed the US was making strong gains and said 'Operation Epic Fury' had brought “swift, decisive, overwhelming victories on the battlefield.” He presented the operation as successful and suggested the military was achieving its goals.

However, he did not give a clear plan for how the war would end. Instead, he offered only a rough timeline, saying the conflict could continue for “two or three weeks” more, without explaining what would happen after that.

Trump also used aggressive language toward Iran, saying it should be “bombed back to the Stone Age where they belong.” Public opposition is rising: a CNN poll cited by The Independent showed only 34% of respondents supported the war, reflecting growing concern among Americans.
