WASHINGTON, DC: Republican Senator John Kennedy launched a sharp attack on former President Joe Biden’s immigration policies, comparing the handling of the US southern border to the famous call from the long-running television show ‘The Price Is Right’.

Speaking on Thursday, March 19, Kennedy accused the Biden administration of effectively inviting migrants into the country without enforcing immigration laws.

John Kennedy says Joe Biden treated border like game show

Kennedy used a pop culture reference to make his point, suggesting that the Biden administration’s approach to immigration resembled a game show invitation rather than a controlled border policy.

“President Biden, it was like ‘The Price Is Right’: come on down. You don't have to follow our immigration laws. Just come on in,” Kennedy said.

The Louisiana senator argued that the situation at the border gave the impression that migrants could enter the United States without consequences or restrictions.

Senator questions competence of officials behind immigration program

Kennedy did not stop at criticizing the policy itself. He also targeted the officials responsible for running Biden’s immigration strategy, questioning their competence and motives.

“Now, I don't really know who was running President Biden's immigration program. I really don't. But I know this: they were one of two things,” he said.

He then delivered a stinging assessment of those he believes were in charge: “They were either so incompetent you wouldn't put them in charge of a ham sandwich, or they believed in open borders."

Donald Trump blames Joe Biden for border security risks

Kennedy’s criticism comes amid similar claims from Donald Trump, who has repeatedly blamed Biden’s immigration policies for security concerns in the United States.

During a press interaction about potential retaliation following the joint US-Israel military operation, Trump was asked whether he had been briefed on possible sleeper cells in the country.

He responded that he had received intelligence briefings on the issue and linked the concerns directly to immigration under Biden.

“I have been, and a lot of people came in through Biden with his stupid open border, but we know where most of them are. We've got our eye on all of them, I think,” Trump said.

Trump went on to deliver a harsh personal assessment of his predecessor’s leadership.

“They came in through the open border policies of sleepy Joe Biden, one of the worst, the worst president in the history of our country,” he added.
