WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald J Trump has launched a blistering dual offensive against the media and legal challengers of his White House State Ballroom project, declaring that Saturday’s shooting at the Washington Hilton was "exactly the reason" the facility must be completed.

In a pair of Truth Social posts published on Monday, April 27, the president accused late-night host Jimmy Kimmel of inciting political violence and demanded the immediate dismissal of a "ridiculous" lawsuit currently stalling construction on the White House grounds.

The $400 million ballroom project, which involves a 90,000-square-foot expansion on the site of the former East Wing, has been mired in litigation brought by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

However, Trump specifically targeted a private lawsuit brought by what he described as "a woman walking her dog" with "absolutely No Standing."

The president asserted that the new facility is a "militarily top secret" mandate that has been demanded by security agencies and every president for the last 150 years to avoid the inherent vulnerabilities of public hotels.

President Trump blames Jimmy Kimmel for inciting violence

Trump directed significant "economic fury" toward ABC host Jimmy Kimmel, calling for his immediate termination following a monologue the president labeled "despicable."

Trump alleged that Kimmel used a "fake video" of Melania and Barron Trump to joke about the first lady having the "glow of an expectant widow."

The president argued that such rhetoric directly radicalized the "lunatic" who attempted to storm the White House Correspondents’ Dinner while loaded with a shotgun, handgun, and multiple knives.

"Jimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC," Trump posted, characterizing the comedian's statements as something "beyond the pale."

He suggested that the media's systemic demonization of his family has helped to legitimize real-world violence, turning the Washington Hilton into a crime scene.

The administration maintains that this environment of "hateful rhetoric" makes the transition to a gated, secure ballroom at the White House an urgent matter of national survival.

Ballroom security features bypass hotel risks

Detailing the "mechanical necessity" of the project, the president highlighted that the new ballroom, which sits inside the most secure building in the world, eliminates the high-angle tactical gaps found in commercial venues.

Unlike the Washington Hilton, Trump noted that the White House Ballroom has "no rooms sitting on top for unsecured people to pour in." He described the structure as having "every highest level security feature there is," ensuring a sterilized environment for the entire line of succession.

This "tough stand" on infrastructure comes as the project remains "on budget and substantially ahead of schedule," according to the president.

Trump argued that Saturday's "narrow miss" serves as a "discovery" that public locations are simply "demonstrably unsafe."

He insisted that nothing should be allowed to interfere with construction, which he frames as a "final deal" for the safety of the president, his family, and his staff.

Historic lawsuit branded a national threat

The president's legal team is moving to use the Hilton shooting to invalidate the National Trust's ongoing challenge. Trump labeled the litigation "frivolous" and warned that it serves no purpose except to put lives at "grave risk."

He demanded the lawsuit be dropped immediately, claiming that the "folly" of preservationists should not outweigh the 150-year-old demand for a secure White House event space.

Trump emphasized that while the ballroom is "beautiful," its primary function is protection. The administration is pushing for a "total reset" of the legal battle before the next scheduled hearing on June 5th.

By linking the project to the "terrifying" events of Saturday night, MAGA supporters are framing the ballroom as a "great negotiator" for national stability, providing a "safe and secure" environment that public hotels like the Hilton can never offer.
