WASHINGTON, DC: Amid analysis of Donald Trump’s falling approval ratings and their potential impact on the coming midterms, television personality Alyssa Farah Griffin downplayed any significant effect on conservative supporters.

Appearing on the 'Behind the Table' podcast on 'The View' on Monday, April 20, the co-host weighed in on how declining approval ratings might affect Trump’s core base.

Alyssa Farah Griffin downplays Trump approval impact

Griffin acknowledged that Trump’s approval ratings have fallen to an all-time low amid the US-Iran war but doubted any significant impact on the president’s core supporters. She said that the president’s base “will never leave him.”

Commenting on the apparent MAGA divide, which has seen figures like Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, and Joe Rogan distance themselves from the president, Griffin questioned the severity of the rift.

She emphasized that Marjorie Taylor Greene is the only one in the group who has clearly spoken against Trump.

Speaking on the podcast with host Brian Teta, Griffin said Trump’s base “will likely never leave him,” despite what she described as “betrayals” over the Epstein files and the Iran war.

Trump base remains loyal despite low approval: Griffin

She noted that his 37% approval rating suggests the core base remains largely intact, with a handful of additional supporters. She added that such numbers make midterm success unlikely, saying “nobody is winning midterms for their party with a 37% approval rate.”

Griffin also cautioned that “the devil is in the details” regarding the ongoing tensions between Trump and segments of conservative media.

Further rejecting speculation about the impact of the apparent conservative divide, Griffin said that, apart from Marjorie, no one has openly stated they are against Trump.

“Both Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson, despite excoriating him (Trump) on their podcasts … still both said that they would still support him despite the things they’re saying,” Griffin shared.

Joe Rogan likely backs Trump despite criticism

Further analyzing podcaster Joe Rogan’s stance on Trump, Griffin argued that despite his persistent criticism over the Epstein files and the Iran war, “he would probably have voted for him again.”

“I get the sense, despite criticizing Trump on Epstein, on the war and generally making fun of how he’s been governing the people around him, I get the sense he would probably have voted for him again.”
