WASHINGTON, DC: Hawaii Governor Josh Green, who attended a recent meeting with President Joe Biden and other Democratic governors, stated that the President may decide in a matter of days whether to run for reelection, according to the New York Post. The Governor's family has known the President for many years.

Additionally, Green stated to The Associated Press on Saturday, July 6, that he thinks Vice President Kamala Harris will be named by the President to take Biden's position on the ticket if he decides not to run.

Green said, "I think the president stays in this race unless he feels that it is not winnable, or he feels that he has to hear other voices in his inner circle that he shouldn’t run."

He added, "If the president felt that he wasn’t up to it and truly not up to it, he would step down. We’ll probably know in the next couple of days how the president feels about all this."

Notably, Biden has always stated that he intends to continue running against former President Donald Trump, who is expected to be his Republican rival.

However, following his poor debate performance in June, concerns have been raised about Biden's mental clarity. While some Democratic colleagues have urged him to withdraw from the race, the president has pointed to support from other party-elected leaders, particularly governors.

According to Green, everyone has parents or grandparents who occasionally have bad days or stop in their capacity to communicate effectively.

However, he emphasized that their experience, knowledge, and position within the family do not make them worthless. He added, "That’s why I’m standing by the president until he tells me otherwise."

Notably, the short notice period for a decision, according to Green, reflects the potential pressure on Biden as lawmakers return to Capitol Hill this week.

He said, "I really, honestly think that he has to make the decision. And it should not come from another governor. It should not come from anyone but the closest, closest advisers to him and his own heart."

Internet divided as Josh Green says Biden could decide whether to remain in 2024 race

People on the internet had mixed reactions after Hawaii Governor Josh Green suggested that Joe Biden might decide on his reelection bid within a few days.

A user wrote on X, "He's already decided. He's staying in the race," while one added, "Biden can't decide anything. You mean his handlers will decide."

A person also stated, "But…but…didn’t already tell the world his decision…that only God almighty coming down and telling him not to run would change his mind? He ain’t leaving unless the powers that be 25th him…or God does," whereas one mentioned, "If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice."

A user also wrote, "Oh please stay in. I want to watch this grifter continue to humiliate himself, his family and the Democratic party. I am enjoying every..... single..... minute," while one commented, "Biden can't drop out Hunters freedom is dependent on him winning."
