WASHINGTON, DC: Senator Josh Hawley (R-Missouri), citing a Secret Service whistleblower, has claimed that former president Joe Biden’s mental health condition was so bad that he “would get lost in his closet” at the White House during his time in office.

Hawley told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Friday, May 30, as reported by The New York Post, “This Secret Service whistleblower actually was assigned to Biden.”

Josh Hawley claims Americans were 'systematically lied to' by the Joe Biden White House

“He told me that Biden used to get lost in his closet in the mornings at the White House,” the 45-year-old politician stated, before adding, “I mean, the guy literally stumbling around in the White House residence couldn’t find his way out of his own closet. The president of the United States.”

Hawley then asserted that “this is outrageous. We were lied to,” suggesting a possible cover-up of Biden’s health decline.

He also claimed that Americans were "systematically lied to by the Biden White House [and] by the media" about Biden's decline.

"It’s amazing we survived it, to be honest with you," the lawmaker stated.

James Comer 'open' to bringing Joe Biden in for hearing

The Missouri Republican’s comments come amid a GOP-led probe into Joe Biden’s cognitive state and his use of autopen while in office.

It has been alleged that the 46th president’s aides used an autopen to approve White House policies and pardons without his knowledge.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Kentucky) recently said, as per The New York Post, “We’re going to see who was giving the directive to sign these. If everyone says it was Joe Biden, then I’m certainly open to bringing him in.”

The 52-year-old also stated that he “would love to ask Joe Biden a lot of questions, but right now, we’re starting with the staffers who were operating the autopen. We’re going to bring the physician, Dr O’Connor, in because he definitely was not telling the truth about Joe Biden’s health.”

Joe Biden thanks well-wishers after cancer diagnosis annoucement

Meanwhile, earlier this month, it was revealed that Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggresive form of prostate cancer.

“In a routine physical exam a small nodule was found in the prostate which necessitated further evaluation,” the former president’s spokesperson had prevously said.

Later, his personal office shared in a statement on Ma 18, “Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday [May 16], he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterised by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.”

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,” it added.

Biden also took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm his diagnosis. Sharing a picture of himself and former first lady Jill Biden, he wrote, “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”
