WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC host Joy Reid claimed it would look weird for people of color not to support presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the upcoming general election in a video she posted on TikTok on Tuesday, July 23.

She also took a swipe at model Amber Rose in her remarks, who spoke at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee last week and is backing the GOP nominee Donald Trump, according to Fox News.

Joy Reid tell people of color to back Kamala Harris

"Given just the stratospheric entrance of Vice President Kamala Harris into the presidential campaign, and she has now secured enough delegates to become the nominee, you’re going to look real crazy being on the other side of that line, particularly as a person of color, but really as anyone who claims to have any connection to the culture," Reid shared on the platform.

"You’re going to look real weird and real lonely on that side," she continued. "You're really going to look crazy being on that side given the cultural phenomenon of Vice President Kamala Devi Harris. She's about to make history. She's about to become the first woman president."

"The door needs to close behind Amber (Rose), and she looked crazy over there. But shut the door behind her," added Reid.

Joy Reid's feud with Amber Rose

Joy Reid had called out Amber Rose after the latter delivered her address at the RNC, stating, "She’s racially ambiguous. I don’t want to say she’s Black because she has said she’s not, so I don’t want to say- 'This Black woman.' This woman who is of whatever race that she has claimed, she’s said she’s not Black, but (the RNC) brought somebody whose whole career is based in Black culture."

"Her whole culture came from Black culture, even though she said she’s not a Black person herself, and the fact that she is now the person they’re using to try to recruit young people of color and to say that this is the person who is the endorser of Donald Trump who you should trust when she won’t even claim the culture that brought her to the table, I’m dubious that this will work," she expressed.

Rose reportedly responded to Reid on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "Hi @JoyAnnReid I’ve never said I wasn’t Black. I said I identify as biracial. I’m not going to invalidate my White father to make you feel more comfortable. Stop being a race baiter ur president does enough race baiting for all of us." The tweet has since been deleted.

Internet slams Joy Reid for race-baiting

Netizens called out MSNBC host Joy Reid for bringing up race as something voters should consider before exercising their choice at the ballot box.

"I think black people are individuals who can make decisions for themselves, and they aren’t a collective entity that all must think and act the same," wrote one social media user.

"Black people should vote for who they believe is the best candidate. Period," stated another.

"Nobody has to show or prove this dumb*** race baiting monger how they voted at all," jibed a third.

"Not it won't. It will mean that not all blacks are race driven and they made their decision using their best judgement," shared one individual.

"People should vote on the best qualified person, the one who most closely aligns with their beliefs and positions, and shares their vision for America. They should not be voting based on race or sex," added another.
