Judge Judy labeled 'dumb' as she slams DA Alvin Bragg for pursuing 'nonsense' charges against Trump
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: In a fiery interview with Chris Wallace, Judge Judy Sheindlin, better known as simply Judge Judy, fiercely defended Donald Trump against his recent felony conviction.
The outspoken TV judge labeled the charges against the former president as "nonsense" and slammed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for misallocating resources. “You gotta twist yourself into a pretzel to figure out what the crime was,” Judge Judy said, dismissing the case against Trump.
Trump’s conviction involves over 30 felony counts related to falsifying business records, specifically linked to hush money payments made before the 2016 presidential election to hide an alleged affair with adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Trump has denied any knowledge of the payments and the affair. His sentencing is set for July 11.
Judge Judy comes to Trump’s defense over ‘nonsense’ conviction
Judge Judy, who now hosts a courtroom show on Freevee, didn’t hold back her frustration. As a property owner in Manhattan, she expressed her preference for Bragg to focus on tackling violent crime.
“I would be happier, as someone who owns property in Manhattan, if the district attorney of New York County would take care of criminals who were making it impossible for citizens to walk in the streets and use the subway, to use his efforts to keep those people off the street, than to spend $5 million or $10 million of taxpayers’ money trying Donald Trump on this nonsense,” the judge told Wallace.

Judy also accused Bragg of using the court system for his “personal self-aggrandizement.” Although she criticized the conviction, Judge Judy clarified that she is no Trump supporter. She has previously campaigned for Nikki Haley during the GOP primary and endorsed Michael Bloomberg in the 2020 election.
She acknowledged Trump’s prowess as a businessman and TV host of 'The Apprentice' but firmly stated, “I don’t think that Donald ever should have been president and I don’t think Donald even thought he was going to be president.”
