MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Barrett Blade, Stormy Daniels' husband, stated that he and his wife might consider leaving the country if former President Donald Trump is acquitted in his hush-money criminal trial in New York City, according to Newsweek.

The 77-year-old presumptive Republican presidential nominee is facing 34 felony counts, accused of fabricating business records to hide the reimbursement of hush money that his former attorney Michael Cohen paid the adult film star in the lead-up to the 2016 general election.

Daniels, real name, Stephanie Clifford, testified last week that she and Trump had an extramarital affair in 2006, and the payment was made to silence her story. However, the former POTUS denies ever having a sexual encounter with Daniels.

What did Stormy Daniels' husband reveal during his CNN interview?

On Tuesday night, Barrett Blade discussed with CNN's Erin Burnett how the ongoing trial has been affecting his wife. He expressed his hope that Daniels will be able to "move past" the trial once a verdict is delivered.

"If Trump is found not guilty, I think there is, I mean, either way I don't think it gets better for her," Blade remarked. "I think if it's not guilty, we got to decide what to do. Good chance that we'll probably vacate this country."

Blade expressed his concern that Daniels is "still going to have to deal with all the hate" from Trump's ever-ardent followers even if he is found guilty, saying, "I don't see it as a win situation either way."

The 45-year-old adult film actress has already spoken publicly about facing multiple attacks, both online and in person, since disclosing her alleged affair with Trump, including during the 2016 presidential campaign.

"I know that we would like to get on with our lives, I know that she wants to move past this," Blade continued. "We just want to do, what, I guess you would say, normal people get to do in some aspects."

"But I don't know if that ever will be, and it breaks my heart," he added. "It breaks my heart some of the things she has to go through that people don't realize."

During last week’s proceedings in the hush money trial, Daniels testified about her purported encounter with the real estate billionaire, which included explicit details, leading Judge Juan Merchan to intervene and urge her to keep her responses brief.

The MAGA strongman's defense team sought a mistrial, but their motions were rejected by the judge.

Donald Trump appeared in court displaying his full might as the ex-Commander-in-Chief was accompanied by his close associates and allies within the GOP as Michael Cohen testified for a second day on Tuesday.

This trial marks the first of four criminal indictments against Donald Trump. The ex-president claims that the charges against him are an effort to disrupt his chances of being reelected.
