MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Stormy Daniels, the adult film star at the center of former president Donald Trump’s hush money case, wore a bulletproof vest to testify in his trial.

Daniels’ lawyer, Clark Brewster, revealed that his client was so terrified of what “some nut might do to her” that she wore the vest every day until she entered the Manhattan courthouse.

Clark Brewster says Stormy Daniels cried herself to sleep ahead of her hush money testimony

Daniels took the stand on May 8 and 9, spending over eight hours testifying over two days. Her testimony detailed an alleged sexual encounter she had with Trump in 2006, which the ex-president denied.

This fear was not about taking the stand or telling her story, but rather about potential harm from an unstable individual.

Brewster said Daniels was "paralyzed with fear, not of taking the stand or telling her story, but what some nut might do to her. And I’m genuinely concerned about it as well.”

“She was concerned about the security coming into New York,” Brewster told CNN on Monday, May 13. “She wore a bulletproof vest every day until she got to the courthouse.”

“I can tell you that before she came on Sunday, I mean, she cried herself to sleep,” Brewster said as reported by The Hill.

Inside Donald Trump's hush money trial

The former president is facing 34 felony charges in the hush money case for falsifying business records related to a payment made to Daniels for her silence about the alleged affair they had in 2006.

The $130,000 payment, made by Trump's former "fixer" Michael Cohen, was delivered in the late stages of the 2016 presidential election.

Cohen took the stand on Monday in the ongoing trial and continued his testimony on Tuesday, May 14, detailing how he acted as a fixer killing negative stories for Trump and continued to work for him to make sure he was "happy" and "protected."

Internet reacts to Stormy Daniels’ bulletproof vest-wearing story

Netizens had mixed reactions to Daniels wearing the bulletproof vest. Some expressed sympathy and concern, while others were skeptical or dismissive.

One user wrote, “All because Trump has let it be known that violence is now an acceptable response to HIS problems.”

Another commented, “Sad that the Presidential nominee for the Republican party is a mob boss.” One more wrote, "standard apparel for Mob trials."

Another added it was a "Good idea," while one expressed they were "Not surprised" by the threat Daniels felt.

There were many more reactions mocking her outfit and use of a bulletproof vest as one wrote, “Bullshit. They don’t make v neck vests and nobody is out to get Stormy Daniels of all people.”
