MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Alina Habba, Donald Trump’s attorney, was accused by critics of scaremongering and threatening the American public when she came to the former president's defense in her recent interview on Fox News.

Although Habba is not representing Trump in his ongoing hush money criminal trial, she made an appearance on Sean Hannity's prime-time show to advocate for her boss and baselessly assert that the criminal prosecution against him is a politically motivated attack that highlights the existence of a "dual system of justice" in the United States.

What did Alina Habba say about Donald Trump?

The 2024 presumptive Republican nominee's legal counsel Alina Habba appeared on 'Hannity’ and provided an update on the hush money case after his former personal attorney and fixer Michael Cohen’s second day of testimony and cross-examination in the Manhattan courtroom, Huff Post reported.

Habba claimed, “Don’t get it twisted. What we are seeing is 100% them afraid that Trump is and probably will beat them.”

“He is beating them in court. He is not campaigning and it is petrifying everybody that has done wrong against any Republican and frankly Americans in this country. It's a joke!” she remarked.

“As President Trump says, he’s just in the way,” Habba asserted.

“This can turn to you, it could turn to me. It could turn to our children. And that’s what they’re doing,” she added.

“They’re indoctrinating, they’re corrupting and they are throwing out the American Constitution that our country was made on,” Habba went on to say, before adding, “It is completely out the window. It’s so sad to see, Sean. It has to stop.”

The internet, however, did not believe the lawyer and accused Habba of scaremongering. One X user remarked, "Habba forgets what has happened to trump former lawyers."

Another asked, "What trial is she watching - purposely setting people up for a huge disappointment - no, no one saw this coming it a crooked verdict. The only way he can lose is if they cheat."

One person said, "If Trump was in any way winning in court neither he nor his team would be on TV all day/every day screaming for the trial to be thrown out."

Another added, "So, Alina Habba is now threatening people."

One X user wrote, "This is what makes her the worlds worst lawyer, but the worlds best liar."

One individual noted, "If she has to say that they're winning in court then they are losing. Bigly."
