MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: On Thursday, May 9, former President Donald Trump addressed reporters outside the Manhattan courtroom at the end of the day’s proceedings in his hush money criminal trial and accused Judge Juan Merchan of being “corrupt” and claimed, “we are so innocent.”

The 2024 presumptive GOP nominee insisted that he has to return to his campaigning before the November general election and that he’s “not supposed to be here.”

Stormy Daniels, the notable prosecution witness, completed her testimony in a total of six hours, spanning over Tuesday and Thursday.

The 45-year-old adult film star stood firm in her recounting of events and refused to back down during her second day of witness testimony in the ex-POTUS’s criminal trial.

The adult film star's story about her alleged sexual encounter with the former president in 2006 became a subject of contention between Daniels and Trump's defense attorney, on Thursday.

According to the New York Post, Donald Trump, who is facing 34 counts of falsifying business records, was accused of making a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels to stop her from going public with her bombshell extramarital affair story about the then-presidential candidate in the lead-up to the 2016 election.

Donald Trump calls Judge Juan Merchan ‘corrupt’

The 77-year-old MAGA strongman told reporters on Thursday, “Everybody saw what happened today. I don't think we have to do any explaining. I'm not allowed to anyway because this judge is corrupt.”

“He's a corrupt judge,” Trump remarked. “This judge, what he did and what this ruling was is a disgrace.”

“Everybody saw what happened today. He's a corrupt judge and he's totally conflicted,” the ex-Commander-in-Chief continued.

“And I got to get back on the campaign trail,” he said, adding, “I'm not supposed to be here.”

“We are so innocent. There's never been anything like it,” Trump contended.

“Read every single analyst, legal analyst. I'm innocent and I'm being held in this court with a corrupt judge. who's totally conflicted. Take a look at his conflict,” the real estate mogul added.

In conclusion, the former President said, “It's a disgrace to the city of New York, to the state of New York, and to the country. Thank you very much.”
