WASHINGTON, DC: Former White House aide and 'The Apprentice' participant Omarosa Manigault Newman told MSNBC's Joy Reid that Donald Trump's alleged hush payment scheme to adult film star Stormy Daniels is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the Trump world's efforts to buy silence, according to Raw Story.

Notably, this follows Daniels' emotional testimony on Tuesday, May 7, during which she revealed graphic details about her claimed sexual encounter with Trump and expressed her sense of victimization.

Reid said during the interview, "The reality is — and I've said this in other interviews — he's running against what would be the first woman president, also has to position himself to win women voters, but his whole history, the leering at his daughter, the gross things he said about women and Miss USA pageants, etcetera."

She asked, "Was there a sense that they had to shut these women down, and does it ring true to you what he's being charged with, that he was willing to pay and reimburse Michael Cohen for him to pay to keep Stormy Daniels from being added to the list?"

Omarosa replied, "Well, Joy, I want to take you back a little bit to 2006. Something that I think Stormy Daniels referenced. When he was promising her that she could be on 'The Apprentice,' she was talking about 'Celebrity Apprentice'. I appeared in that season, the first season of the 'Celebrity Apprentice'. And there was another Playmate that ended up on the cast of 'Celebrity Apprentice'."

She added, "I don't know if you recall that, but Tiffany Fallon was selected for the cast instead of, I believe ... Stormy Daniels or these other women that were lobbying to be in that spot. Donald was successful in getting one of his paramours on our season ... I've seen him pay off people. I've seen him try to pay off folks to try to silence them. I don't know if you recall, they tried to do the same thing to me."

She further stated, "$20,000 a month or something like that, for me to work on the campaign for several years so that I wouldn't share what I shared in my book. So this is kind of their pattern. This is par for the course in Donald Trump's world."

Internet stays divided after statement by Omarosa Newman

People on the internet had mixed reactions as Omarosa Newman said she has seen Trump pay off people to buy their silence. A user posted on X, "I hate Trump. But Omarosa is SUCH a narcissistic opportunist. After claiming she was a lifelong Democrat, she begged for a job in the Trump campaign. And then in his admin. She would still be entrenched in Trumpworld if she hadn’t been FIRED by John Kelly. Watch the Frontline documentary."

A person added, "I have an idea. Maybe the Republicans should find a candidate that doesn’t behave so terribly that they need to pay people not to talk about it" while one stated, "I abhor Trump as much as anyone but Omarosa is as big a liar as Trump."

A user also wrote, "Does she have the quantifiable evidence of it?" whereas one mentioned, "And where did that $20k come from? As if I didn't know."
