Kai Trump shuts down romance rumors with University of Miami football star Jake Weinberg
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Kai Trump has addressed speculation about a possible romance with University of Miami football player Jake Weinberg, with a representative for President Donald Trump’s granddaughter confirming that the two are not dating.
The 19-year-old freshman and Weinberg, a kicker for the Miami Hurricanes, recently sparked dating rumors after they were reportedly spotted at the same restaurant in Palm Beach, Florida. However, her representative told TMZ that the pair are “just friends” and are not romantically involved.

Kai Trump’s representative clarifies relationship with University of Miami football player
Rumors linking Trump and Weinberg began circulating on social media in October, with speculation growing after the two were reportedly seen at a Palm Beach restaurant.
A representative for Trump addressed the chatter in a statement to TMZ, saying: “Kai and Jake are just friends and they are NOT dating.”
Both attend the University of Miami, where Trump is a freshman on the women's golf team and Weinberg plays football as the Hurricanes' kicker. Weinberg previously spent two seasons at Florida State University before transferring to Miami.
Neither Trump nor Weinberg had publicly confirmed a relationship.
The latest speculation has also brought renewed attention to Trump’s earlier comments about the challenges of dating while receiving Secret Service protection.
During an appearance on Logan Paul's podcast in January, the 19-year-old described the experience as awkward, explaining that agents sometimes remain close by while she is on a date.
“To be honest, it's really awkward when you're... going on a date with a guy and they're two tables behind you. It's a little weird,” she said.
She added that she tries not to let their presence distract her and has learned to focus on the person she is with.
Kai Trump recovering from wrist surgery after college golf injury
The dating rumors emerged as Trump works through a recovery period following surgery on her left wrist.
In October, she announced that she had undergone surgery after sustaining the injury during her first tournament of the college season. She said she made the decision after consulting her family, coaches, and athletic training staff.

“While I had hoped to avoid surgery, after talks with my family, coaches, and athletic training staff I know I made the best decision for my long-term health and my future in the game I love,” she wrote.
Trump said her recovery would take time but expressed determination to return to the sport. She is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr and Vanessa Trump and began her freshman year at the University of Miami in September.
