WASHINGTON, DC: Former vice president and 2024 Democratic nominee Kamala Harris only used chairs that met "certain specifications" during her campaign in the last general election, Fox News reported on Saturday, March 15.

The revelation is made in an upcoming book, 'FIGHT: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House', written by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes and published by Harper Collins.

What were the required specifications for Kamala Harris' chair?

An excerpt from the book published by The Hill noted that the Harris campaign demanded that chairs used by her met certain specifications after her first interview appearance with her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, on CNN on August 29, 2024.

"Her team required that she be provided a chair that met certain specifications: 'Leg height no less than 15 inches; floor to top of seat height no less than 18.9 inches; arms on chairs may not be very high, arms must fall at a natural height; chairs must be firm,'" contained the excerpt.

The reason for the demand was the visual aesthetics of 5 ft 4 in Harris sitting beside a 6 ft tall Walz.

"Sitting next to Walz in a chair that seemed to place her below him and heaping praise on Biden’s record, Harris did not look like a candidate seeking the highest office in the land," the book claimed. "The whole scene reinforced the criticism that the vice president was either incapable, or afraid, of answering tough questions on her own."

The authors further quipped that regardless of the chair specifications, the real question that faced Harris "was whether she could build a sturdy platform."

Internet mocks Kamala Harris as a 'diva' over chair specifications for campaign events

Netizens reacting to the report on the social media platform X trolled Kamala Harris for her campaign's demand. The following tweets demonstrate their takes.

"Sounds like she'll fit right into Hollywood, no pun intended," wrote a user.

"A diva for sure," jibed another.

"The ultimate prima Donna," echoed a third.

"She thought she was more important than she actually was," chided a fourth.

"Anyone that 'high maintenance' is way too self absorbed to be president," jibed a fifth.

"Kamala out here demandin’ chairs like she’s Goldilocks—‘this one’s too hard, that one’s too wack, I need it just right for my VIP back!" quipped yet another.
