Tim Walz mocked for saying America 'wouldn’t be in this mess' if he and Kamala Harris had won

SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA: Minnesota Governor Tim Walz claimed that America wouldn’t be in its current state if he and Kamala Harris had won.
During an appearance on MSNBC, Walz told Chris Hayes that he takes responsibility for their loss, adding that Democrats need to do more than just criticize former President Donald Trump.
Walz: I own this. We wouldn’t be in this mess if we'd have won the election and we didn't. We have to make sure that Americans know it's not just that Donald Trump is bad, but we're offering them something better pic.twitter.com/kVwmLEjB3r

Tim Walz says 'we wouldn’t be in this mess if we won the election'
Tim Walz also spoke about the impact of President Donald Trump’s trade policies, particularly his tariff war with Canada.
“Look, I own this. We wouldn’t be in this mess if we won the election, and we didn’t,” Walz told Hayes on Wednesday, March 12.

“We have to make sure Americans know that it’s not just that Donald Trump is bad, but we’re offering them something better. And I think that’s what we need to work on," he said, as per The Wrap.
The governor argued that these tariffs have hurt Minnesota and made the US an unreliable trading partner.
He specifically mentioned pot ash, a common fertilizer, noting that 90% of the supply in his state comes from Canada.
“Quite honestly, the chaos and the uncertainty it causes, so many Minnesotans are asking when was Canada our enemy? It makes no sense,” said Walz.

Tim Walz calls Donald Trump 'the worst possible business executive I have ever witnessed'
Tim Walz criticized the Trump administration’s stance on education and social programs.
He claimed that Donald Trump and his allies, including “President Musk,” see such programs as expenses rather than investments in people’s well-being.

“There is no plan behind this,” Walz said. “Donald Trump doesn’t know how anything works. Donald Trump is this caricature who had a reality TV show where he pretended that he knew how to run businesses. The reality is he doesn’t," he added.
Walz then went on to call Trump “the worst possible business executive I have ever witnessed.”
Walz also questioned Trump’s economic policies, stating, “What is the goal at the end of the day? There’s not a single economist that backs tariffs.”
He further criticized Linda McMahon’s role in education, adding, “Linda McMahon, I bet she’s never been in a public school."
"What is she going to do to improve our students’ outcomes and lives? There’s a vacuum for [Democrats] to fill. We should get out there and fill it," he said.
Internet slams Tim Walz for saying things would be better if he and Kamala Harris had won
Social media users quickly responded to Tim Walz’s remarks, with many mocking his claim that things would be better if he and Kamala Harris had won.
“The mess we would be in would be far, far worse!” wrote one user on X.

“Says the man that still does not understand why they lost,” said another.
“The Dems love to double down on failure...,” wrote one more.

“But you didn’t run on that! The only thing you and your party ran on was that Donald Trump is bad. So yeah, maybe own it,” one person wrote.
