WASHINGTON, DC: Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris' old tweet thanking Sean 'Diddy' Combs has resurfaced on social media following the rapper's recent arrest on serious charges of sex trafficking.

Notably, Combs pleaded not guilty but was denied bail due to concerns about witness tampering and the power imbalance in the case, per The Guardian.

Kamala Harris' old tweet on Diddy resurfaces

Kamala Harris thanked Diddy for hosting a town hall on racial inequality during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. She wrote on X, "Thank you, @Diddy, for hosting this town hall last night. There’s a lot at stake for our communities right now, and it’s critical we bring to the forefront how coronavirus is perpetuating racial inequality and health disparities."

The post resurfaced and garnered huge traffic with more than 13k retweets after the rapper's arrest.

Moreover, fake images purporting to show Harris and Combs together were also shared on X but were soon debunked.

It was a morphed photo from the original one from 2001 where Harris was standing beside talk show host Montel Williams, whom she dated for a short period.

Similarly, a photo of GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump with Combs was also shared online. A user shared the image and wrote on X, "Since Diddy was just arrested in New York following an indictment for alleged sex trafficking... Seems a good time to point out he used to hang out with Donald Trump. And he's an investor in X."

A user also wrote, "Great job, Kamal! What else do you know about Diddy? Have you attended any Diddy party?", while another commented, "Oh wow! I don't think word salad will get you out of this. You are friends with a horrible "person." I hope you pay dearly for this one."
