PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA: Vice President Kamala Harris has once again found herself in hot water after she repeated a well-known phrase during a campaign speech in Pittsburgh on Monday, September 2.

Harris, known for her unique speaking style that often simplifies complex ideas to the point of confusion, repeated a catchphrase that first gained attention during a 2023 speech in Ghana.

The phrase, "We have dreams. We can see what is possible, unburdened by what has been," quickly became the subject of online trolling, with many social media users mocking her for reusing the line, Daily Mail reported.

During her Pittsburgh speech, Harris brought back a phrase that has become somewhat emblematic of her public speaking style.

"We have dreams. We can see what is possible, unburdened by what has been," she declared to the audience.

This line, which she initially used while discussing the concept of innovation during a trip to Ghana in March 2023, has been both praised and ridiculed for its vagueness and poetic tone.

In 2023, Harris spoke to a group of young people in Ghana about the importance of innovation. She described innovation as "one's ability not only to see, but to do things differently," emphasizing the need for "challenging the premise, questioning the status quo, and bold thinking."

It was during this speech that she first introduced her now-famous catchphrase about "the pursuit of what can be unburdened by what has been."

While the phrase may have been intended to inspire, it has instead become a target for critics who view it as emblematic of Harris's often perplexing communication style.

The Vice President's tendency to deliver speeches filled with what some describe as "word salads"—sentences that are convoluted and difficult to decipher—has drawn both attention and derision.

Harris’s public speaking has often been a topic of discussion, with many pointing out her tendency to over-simplify complex issues to the point where her answers become more confusing rather than clarifying.

Additionally, her frequent use of awkward laughter and her propensity for skirting direct answers by offering broad, often vague definitions of the topics at hand have left many audiences and commentators scratching their heads.
