WASHINGTON, DC: Former Vice President Kamala Harris made a startling revelation, stating that she was "fascinated" by President Donald Trump during his June 2024 debate with former President Joe Biden.

During an interview with British author Steven Bartlett on 'The Diary of a CEO' podcast, which was published on Thursday, October 30, Harris also mentioned that Trump is incredibly "gifted" and people shouldn't "discount" him.

Kamala Harris says she felt Biden didn't want to debate Trump

During the interview, Steven Bartlett broached the topic of Donald Trump and Joe Biden's June 2024 presidential debate. He stated that following the debate, it seemed as if the whole Democratic side of politics was pretending all was ok, which was not the case.

Harris chimed in and said, "I did watch that debate very closely for many reasons, including I had four interviews right after his debate, to speak on behalf of the president."

"It was also interesting to see Donald Trump 'moderate' and it was fascinating," the former VP added.

She further mentioned, "I was in Los Angeles at the time in a hotel, watching the debate, taking vigorous notes. I ordered pizzas for everyone. I had a tight group of people with me in the room."

Harris shared that Biden called him from the debate camp, and she could tell "something was off."

"I don't think he wanted to debate is my point. He didn't want that to be," she expressed.

Further in the interview, Harris mentioned, "He (Trump) is very gifted. Don't discount the guy in terms of that."

Talking about how to beat Trump, she added, "You have to be relentless and focus on what is actually happening. It also means deconstructing."

Kamala Harris surprised Jon Stewart during an episode of his 'The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart' podcast as she insisted that Joe Biden was "fully competent" to serve another four years in office.

As she appeared on Thursday's episode to promote her new book '107 Days', Harris reflected on her "complicated" relationship with the former president and her approach during the 2024 campaign.

Stewart asked whether her "loyalty" to Biden prevented her from drawing clearer contrasts with his policies, and she admitted that she had been reluctant to add to the criticism already surrounding the 82-year-old.

Harris shared, "I care about him deeply and I did not want to pile on with all the criticism that he was facing. I didn’t think it was necessary," acknowledging that she may have misjudged the public mood.

Meanwhile, the comedian pressed Harris to clarify whether her remarks referred to Biden’s political decisions or his personal fitness for office.

She said, "I believe he was fully competent to serve," and Stewart asked, "Do you really?"

Harris insisted, "I do," to which Stewart responded, "That surprises me, actually."
