WASHINGTON, DC: Kamala Harris is facing a storm of criticism from Donald Trump's supporters after her latest campaign video prominently featured images of the US-Mexico border wall—a structure she has long opposed.

The video, which aims to highlight her credentials as a "border-state prosecutor," has sparked a wave of trolling and accusations of hypocrisy on social media, as reported by The New York Post.

The ad, released earlier this month, includes two images of the border wall constructed during the Trump administration.

These images, which briefly flash across the screen, accompany a narrator’s voice that boasts about Harris’s efforts to address issues at the southern border.

"As president, she will hire thousands more border agents and crack down on fentanyl and human trafficking. Fixing the border is tough. So is Kamala Harris," the male narrator declares, aligning her with a strong stance on border security.

The ad also showcases various scenes of Harris at border-related press conferences and of border agents on duty.

However, it was the sight of the border wall—an unmistakable symbol of Trump’s immigration policy—that caught the attention of Trump supporters, igniting a firestorm online.

Mike Howell, the executive director of the conservative Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, was among the first to call out Harris on social media.

He posted screenshots of the wall from the ad on X and remarked, "What is that in this ad? Looks like the @realDonaldTrump BORDER WALL to me!"

Harris and her campaign team have not commented on the inclusion of the wall in the video. However, this silence hasn’t stopped the onslaught of criticism from those who see the ad as a glaring contradiction of her previous stance on the wall.

Harris has been a vocal critic of the border wall since its inception. Back in 2017, during her tenure as a US Senator for California, she labeled the wall project a "stupid use of money" and committed to blocking funding for it.

Her opposition continued as she ascended to the vice presidency, even as parts of the wall continued to be built under the Biden administration due to Congressional constraints.

Under her watch as Vice President and the so-called "Border Czar," illegal crossings at the southern border surged by 140% compared to the numbers seen during the Trump administration, according to the House Committee on Homeland Security.

This increase in border crossings has been a major point of contention for her critics, who argue that she has failed to effectively manage the situation.

Kamala Harris comes under fire from Trump supporters for recent campaign ad

Trump supporters and critics of Harris took to social media to express their outrage, accusing her of hypocrisy and opportunism.

On X, one person remarked, "Hey Kamala Harris I thought ‘walls’ are racist? You and Biden stopped building a wall. Now you use it in your campaign video?" Another said, "It’s all she can do is play copycat copy everything he does and says."

"Kamala has never taken a hard position on anything, and so she can be anything. 'You've gotta elect me to find out what I'll do' is the new 'you gotta pass it to find out what's in it,'" wrote one person.

Another added, "Harris is running ads boasting about her power as a prosecutor handling border influx of drugs and crime while showing pictures of Trump's borderwall that Harris opposed and opposes as Border Czar."

"They think the American people are suckers," wrote one individual.

One person wrote, "She did nothing. Now she flip flops completely and says she will do the opposite of what she has done? Pray to God the people in this country are smart enough to see through the lies!"

Another pointed out, "Not an original thought in her lifetime."

One netizen stated, "Classic plagerism."
