WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris was heavily roasted on social media following her speech on Wednesday, September 25, where she stressed the need to move on from "failed policies" that "we have proven don't work."

The irony of this statement was not lost on critics, given her current position within the Biden regime. Conservative commentators were quick to mock her on various platforms.

Kamala Harris makes contentious statement

Harris was speaking at The Economic Club of Pittsburgh when she made sure to bring up her "middle-class upbringing" as a way of connecting with ordinary Americans while simultaneously pitching her administration’s recent proposals.

She promised an increase in the tax break for new small businesses, which she described as essential to economic growth. Another proposal that garnered attention was a $25,000 credit for first-time homebuyers.

"When the middle class is strong, America is strong. And we can build a stronger middle class," Harris said during the speech. "The American economy is the most powerful force for innovation and wealth creation in human history. We just need to move past the failed policies that we have proven don't work. And like generations before us, let us be inspired by what is possible."

It was this particular call to "move past failed policies" that sparked raised eyebrows across social media. Critics pounced on what they saw as a rather ironic statement from a sitting vice president.

Conservative commentators mock Kamala Harris

Almost immediately after Kamala Harris made her remarks, conservative commentators and social media users took to various platforms to mock her.

Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon was one of the first to weigh in. "Kamala Harris says we need to move past the failed policies that don’t work. She’s telling us to vote for Trump. Listen to her," Dillon posted on X.

"You’re right," Texas Republican Rep Troy Nehls chimed in. "The American people are sick and tired of the Harris-Biden Administration’s failed policies. November can’t come soon enough!"

Former 2020 Trump campaign advisor and Fox News contributor Steve Cortes added his own sarcastic take: "Acceptance is the first step."

Stephen L Miller, host of the Versus Media podcast, couldn’t resist chiming in. "Quite the optics today as Harris is out saying we need to move past failed policies while the old man is on The View saying he delegated everything to her in his administration," he wrote.

Miller’s comment referenced President Joe Biden’s appearance on 'The View' earlier that day, where he openly admitted that Harris had played an important role in his administration’s decisions.

Social media backlash against Kamala Harris

Other critics on social media also piled on the mockery.

"She's right. We need to move past the policies she had a hand in creating and move to Trump's policies that worked. Maybe she has come to the realization that even she was better off 3 1/2 years ago than she is today," one user posted on X.

"We just need to move past our failed policies. We've proven they don't work so just follow me and give me one more chance to destroy the rest of your beloved country ok trust me I'm good at it it's a burden that can't be unburdened you idiots," another quipped.

"Can we get a count of how many times she said 'middle class?' it's like listening to a record skip over and over and over again with the same BS! I'll say it again! I've never heard someone say so much without saying anything at all!" a third user offered.

"I sure wish that more people realized that those failed policies Harris is speaking about are her own policies! She can change them right now... But, maybe she is saying that her policies have failed to destroy our great country fast enough and that she needs to try harder," someone else joked.

"VP Harris has proven; that you can have a successful business...but installing irresponsible, DEI employees will destroy it; nearly overnight. And take zero responsibility for it," read a comment.

"She’s regurgitating theories and propositions. She doesn’t have a detailed plan. She’s simply waiting on her marching orders. Trump today, at his rally in North Carolina, laid out his trade policy for American manufacturing, REAL steps, and it’s pure genius!" another chimed in.

Kamala Harris' election hurdles

Kamala Harris also managed to stir the pot by echoing a statement from President Biden earlier that day, where he referred to Donald Trump as "one of the biggest losers ever" during his appearance on 'The View'. Harris used the same phrasing to take a swipe at her opponent.

That said, Harris faces major challenges in the upcoming election. Polls consistently show her trailing Trump on key issues such as the economy and inflation — areas where voters seem to trust the former president more. Recognizing this, Harris has made economic issues a key focus of her campaign speeches, Fox News reported.
