WASHINGTON, DC: The White House has addressed the Wednesday, January 7 incident in which ICE agent Jonathan Ross fatally shot 37-year-old mother Renee Nicole Good.
Press secretary Karoline Leavitt spoke publicly about the shooting, blaming what she described as a radical left-wing movement for the unrest surrounding the case. She also pointed to the challenges facing Immigration and Customs Enforcement and defended the mission and actions of ICE agents.
Karoline Leavitt confirms Trump's support for ICE after Minnesota tragedy
On Thursday, Karoline Leavitt posted on X (formerly Twitter), “President Trump and his entire Administration stand fully behind the heroic men and women of ICE and will always uphold Law and Order in the United States of America.”
She blamed a “larger, sinister left-wing movement” for the Minnesota incident, writing, "The deadly incident that took place in Minnesota yesterday occurred as a result of a larger, sinister left-wing movement that’s spread across our country where our brave men and women of federal law enforcement are under organized attack."
Leavitt highlighted the challenges ICE officers face, noting, "Right now, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers are facing a 1,200% increase in assaults, a 3200% increase in vehicle rammings, and an 8,000% increase in death threats."
"ICE agents are faithfully enforcing federal law to protect the safety of the American people by removing criminal illegal aliens from our country – which is exactly what nearly 80 million Americans voted for," she stressed.
Karoline Leavitt claims Democrats are 'impeding immigration enforcement operations every single day'
The White House press secretary continued her X post by criticizing the Democratic Party. She said, “Radicals in the Democrat Party are furious over this,” and added, “They don’t want our border secured or criminal illegal aliens removed.”
She accused Democrats of blocking immigration enforcement every day, creating dangerous conditions that make it nearly impossible for law enforcement officers to do their jobs.
"As a result, Democrats are impeding immigration enforcement operations every single day – creating extremely heightened and dangerous circumstances that make it nearly impossible for the men and women in law enforcement to simply do their jobs," the 28-year-old wrote.
Leavitt also said Democrats want to "defund federal law enforcement agencies" that protect public safety, calling to abolish ICE and defund the police. She declared, “That will NEVER be allowed to happen under President Trump and Vice President.”
She concluded by promising that the "Trump Administration will redouble our efforts to get the worst of the worst — criminal illegal alien killers, r*p**ts, gangbangers, and p*d*philes — off of American streets."
JD Vance defends ICE officer in Minnesota shooting
JD Vance joined Karoline Leavitt at a recent White House briefing and strongly defended the ICE officer who fatally shot the woman in Minneapolis.
At a press conference, Vance called the death of the 37-year-old woman a tragedy but said the officer acted in self-defense when she drove her car toward him during a law enforcement operation.

Vance: "The reason this woman is dead is because she tried to run somebody over with her car!
...and the guy defended himself when that happened!" pic.twitter.com/ckHOBlYMED
“She tried to run somebody over with her car, and the guy defended himself,” Vance said, noting that the officer had been seriously injured in the line of duty before. The Cincinnati Republican described Good as part of “a broader left-wing network” organized "to attack, to dox, to assault, and to make it impossible for our ICE officers to do their job.”
He added, "We’ve never seen fraud like this in the history of our country. We know that the fraud isn’t just happening in Minneapolis, it’s also happening in states like Ohio. It's happening in states like California."
Vance also criticized media coverage of the incident, saying, "The way that the media, by and large, has reported this story has been an absolute disgrace, and it puts our law enforcement officers at risk every single day.”
