WASHINGTON, DC: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday, November 13, forcefully pushed back against Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s recent claim that Trump voters are approaching her to express support for “Democratic socialism,” accusing the congresswoman of inventing the encounters and misrepresenting the conservative base.

In a sharp exchange during an appearance on 'Jesse Watters Primetime', Leavitt rejected Ocasio-Cortez’s suggestion that Trump supporters are shifting ideologically, arguing that her story “does not align with reality” and is “making crap up” about Trump voters.

Karoline Leavitt disputes AOC’s claim Trump voters are embracing socialism

Watters opened the segment by asking, “AOC is saying that MAGA Republicans are coming up to her and saying, ‘Man, I was wrong about Trump. I’m with socialism now.’ Do you buy that?”

Leavitt immediately dismissed the claim.

"I would like to see some of the people who actually said that to AOC and check their ballots and see if they actually voted for President Trump because I can assure you MAGA Republicans oppose everything that AOC and the modern-day communist Democrat party stand for,” she said.

Leavitt argued that the policy priorities of Trump-aligned voters contradict AOC’s narrative. “Mass migration and open borders like we saw in the Biden administration,” she said, along with “men in women’s sports,” are issues where she insisted the two political camps could not be further apart.

AOC recently said that Trump supporters have approached her to express support for “Democratic socialism” and tell her they are “learning” from her.

Karoline Leavitt says Trump ‘shellacked’ Chuck Schumer and Democrats

In a separate exchange, Leavitt declared that Trump had just “SHELLACKED” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and the “ENTIRE DEMOCRAT PARTY,” framing recent developments as evidence of Democratic disarray.

“It’s too bad. He turned into a Palestinian, and he did it for nothing,” Leavitt said, aiming for Schumer’s political positioning.

“Now you see how far they’re moving to the left: they’ve run the senators out of town, and now they’re running Schumer out of town,” she added, arguing that Democrats are fracturing under internal ideological pressure.

Leavitt’s remarks come as the White House escalates its messaging war ahead of upcoming legislative fights and the broader 2026 midterm landscape.
