WASHINGTON, DC: Venezuela was struck by air attacks under President Donald Trump's orders on Saturday, December 3. Images, videos, and statements had all been all over social media. Now, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, in a detailed note on X (formerly Twitter), said Trump kept his promise by capturing Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro.
She also described Trump as a “decisive” and “strong leader” who does “exactly what he says he's going to do” in a decisive, America First action. Leavitt further recalled Trump’s promise about demolishing “foreign cartels,” concluding, “Promises Made, Promises Kept.”
Karoline Leavitt highlights Trump’s decisive move to capture Maduro, putting the nation first
In the post shared on Saturday, Karoline Leavitt didn’t just share the long note. It also included a follow-up that listed, in numbered form, the steps needed to protect the nation. The issue of narcotics cartels and locking up violent offenders was listed as item number 10. It was highlighted in yellow.
Speaking about her note, she said, "President Trump is a decisive and strong leader who does EXACTLY what he says he’s going to do."
"During his historic campaign in 2024, President Trump explicitly promised that he would work to 'demolish foreign d**g cartels' to keep our citizens safe and that’s exactly what he did today through an unprecedented display of speed, precision, and power," she added.
"As the Administration has been saying for months, Nicolás Maduro was not the legitimate President of Venezuela - he was the fugitive head of a narco-te**orist cartel who flooded the United States of America with deadly d**gs and sent thousands of vicious illegal alien thugs to destabilize our country and harm its people," Leavitt claimed. "That’s why Maduro was indicted in the United States and finally captured early this morning where he will face the full weight of the American justice system."
"Joe Biden pathetically sat by and allowed our country to become a dumping ground for corrupt regimes in countries like Venezuela," the press secretary insisted.

"President Trump will NEVER allow that to happen again. That’s what America First is all about. President Trump has no greater responsibility than to defend the safety and security of the American people and fearlessly advance our interests, and he will never waver in doing so," the 28-year-old added.
"In his inaugural address, President Trump pledged that America would 'reclaim its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, most respected nation on earth.' Promises Made, Promises Kept," Leavitt concluded.
US strikes Venezuela under Trump’s orders as tensions rise
Explosions were reported across Caracas, Venezuela’s capital, on Saturday. Videos on social media showed fires, smoke, and low-flying aircraft.
Residents described loud blasts, flashes in the sky, and short power outages. Some footage appeared to show missile launches near Fuerte Tiuna, a major military complex that houses Venezuela’s Ministry of Defense.

The strikes happened as Trump’s administration increased pressure on Maduro’s government. Recently, Washington has stepped up economic and military actions, citing concerns about d**g trafficking and security threats linked to Venezuela.
