She stated that the president underwent an MRI during his October visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland.

She added that Trump was scheduled to attend a dinner later that evening, which would be open to the press. “I know all of you will see with your own eyes later this evening when he opens up his dinner to the press,” Leavitt said.

Donald Trump reassures media about his health following routine MRI

Concerns about the president's health first surfaced in mid-2025, after he was seen with swollen legs during the FIFA Club World Cup final in New Jersey.  Later, in another event, Trump was photographed with bruises on his hands.

To put the rumors to rest, Trump spoke directly about his health in October. “I got an MRI, it was perfect,” he told reporters aboard Air Force One. “I gave you the full results,” he added. “We had an MRI, and the machine, you know, the whole thing, and it was perfect.”

The White House described the October checkup as a routine examination, with the president’s physician confirming that Trump remains in “exceptional health.”

Sean P Barbabella, the physician to the president, stated in his October summary that Trump “remains in exceptional health.” He added that the president continues to show strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and physical performance.
