Trump: I did. I got an MRI. It was perfect. Yeah… nobody has given you reports like I have given you. The doctors said some of the best reports they have ever seen. https://t.co/k4XL0j2NFK pic.twitter.com/pb09fTLCCs
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: President Donald Trump revealed that he recently underwent an MRI scan. Although he did not disclose the reason for the test, he described the results as perfect. The announcement came during his Asia trip, while he was flying to Tokyo aboard Air Force One. The update follows a health check-up earlier this month, in which Trump’s physician declared his health excellent.
Donald Trump calls MRI result 'perfect'
“It was perfect,” Trump told reporters on board Air Force One en route to Tokyo. "The doctor said some of the best reports for the age. Some of the best reports they've ever seen."
"I wouldn't run. I'd do something,” he added, referring to any negative findings. “But the doctor said some of the best reports for the age. Some of the best reports they've ever seen,” he reiterated.
Earlier this month, Trump’s doctor said he was in “exceptional health” after a medical evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Suspicion surrounds Donald Trump’s health
Trump’s health has been under scrutiny in recent months. In July, the White House revealed that he had swelling in his lower legs and bruising on his right hand after photos surfaced showing swollen ankles and makeup covering the affected area.
In a letter, Trump’s physician Sean Barbabella confirmed the leg swelling was due to “chronic venous insufficiency,” a benign condition common among people over 70. Regarding the bruising, Barbabella said it was consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshakes and aspirin use, part of a “standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”
Barbabella also noted that the tests were part of Trump’s "ongoing health maintenance plan," with results deemed “exceptional,” including stable metabolic, hematologic, and cardiac parameters. He added that Trump had received the flu and COVID-19 vaccines during the evaluation in preparation for upcoming international travel.
Lack of clarity regarding Donald Trump’s MRI report
It remains unclear whether Trump’s recent MRI was a follow-up to his earlier evaluation or a separate test. When asked, Trump told reporters, "You could ask the doctors. In fact, we have doctors traveling with us.”
He added that his doctors had shared a “very conclusive” overview of his health and remarked, "Nobody has ever given you reports like I gave you.”
At 79, Trump is the oldest person to be inaugurated as US president when he returned to the White House in January and the second-oldest to serve as president.
