WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump dismissed speculation about his health on Thursday, saying he was in “great shape” and felt “physically and mentally very good” ahead of a scheduled checkup at Walter Reed Medical Center on October 10.

“I am meeting with the troops, and I’m also going to do a semi-annual physical, which I do, and I think I’m in great shape,” Trump said, jokingly knocking on wood during the exchange.

“I have no difficulty thus far. Is there wood around here? I will knock on it,” he added, drawing laughter from the press pool. The president’s comments came during a media interaction before his bilateral meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Trump says he feels strong ahead of medical checkup

“No difficulty. Physically, I feel very good. Mentally, I feel very good,” Donald Trump said, reiterating his confidence in his health. He explained that he undergoes physical examinations regularly and likes to “check early.” “Always be early, it says. It’s a lesson for a lot of people,” he remarked.

Trump claims perfect score on recent cognitive exam

Trump said he had also taken a cognitive test about six or seven months ago and aced it. “I also did a cognitive exam, which is always very risky because if I didn’t do well, you would be the first to be blaring it,” he said.

“And I had a perfect score. One of the doctors said he’s almost never seen a perfect score.”

He claimed his score was the highest possible, adding that former Presidents Barack Obama and George W Bush never took such a test. “Did Obama do it? No. Did Bush do it? No. Did Biden do it? Definitely...Biden wouldn’t have gotten the first three questions right,” Trump said.

“I actually believe that if you are president, you should do a cognitive exam,” he added.

Trump says Obama ‘did nothing’ to earn Nobel Peace Prize

When asked about Obama receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, Trump scoffed, claiming his predecessor “got it for doing nothing.”

“Obama got a prize, he didn’t even know what. He got elected, and they gave it to him for doing absolutely nothing but destroying our country,” Trump said.

“No, he was not a good president. The worst president was ‘Sleepy Joe Biden.’ But Obama was not a good president.” He concluded by saying, “My election was a much more important election.”

Trump is set to visit the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday, October 10, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

The visit comes amid renewed public speculation about Trump’s health after a viral video from a recent White House roundtable showed the president appearing fatigued, with what viewers described as a “drooping mouth.”

In the official statement, Leavitt said, “On Friday morning, President Trump will visit Walter Reed Medical Center for a planned meeting and remarks with the troops.” Following his visit, Trump is expected to return to the White House.
