WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Former White House press secretary Katie Zacharia says she is determined to protect her husband and four children after leaving the Trump administration following just five days in the role.

She has accused photographers of invading her privacy, while sources close to her claim that people inside the White House undermined her instead of helping her succeed.

Zacharia, 41, spoke out after several incidents involving photographers and strangers near her home.

The former spokesperson, who has returned to California with her family, is now trying to keep a low profile as she deals with the fallout from her abrupt departure.

Katie Zacharia accuses photographers of invading privacy

'A photographer staged outside my location this morning and invaded my privacy,' Zacharia told the Daily Mail. She described the incidents as 'another example of the left's hostility toward supporters of President Trump and law enforcement.'

She also made it clear that she would not tolerate anyone targeting her family.

'I will protect my family, and I will not tolerate it. Those who seek to destroy lives and endanger families for clicks should be ashamed,' she said.

'Anyone who targets me or my family, invades our privacy, or engages in harassment will be met with a full and firm response.'

According to the report, Zacharia called police officers on three occasions over people allegedly lingering around her home. Photographs of her outside the property were also published online.

A source familiar with her onboarding told the Daily Mail that Zacharia was not given a protective detail by the White House.

This differed from her earlier role at the Department of Homeland Security, where former secretary Kristi Noem had provided her with a security detail.

Katie Zacharia feels betrayed after five-day tenure

Zacharia is still dealing with the fallout from her brief tenure as Donald Trump's press secretary.

Sources close to her claim that she felt let down by people within the administration who allegedly worked against her instead of supporting her.

A source told the Daily Mail that Zacharia was 'better off' after entering a difficult situation with 'sharp knives from every direction,' particularly within the White House.

'Instead of focusing on how to help her succeed, colleagues spent their time texting negative tear-downs to the media,' the source claimed.

Another source said Zacharia was trying to protect her children and keep a low profile for the time being.

Despite her disappointment over how her time in the White House ended, she has reportedly returned home determined to recharge and move forward.

The source also described her as 'ruthlessly loyal to the president' and 'grateful' for the opportunity to serve him.

Trump and Karoline Leavitt address Katie Zacharia’s exit

Trump has publicly expressed his hope that Zacharia will have a good life after leaving the administration.

'I want her to have a good life,' he told reporters. He also recalled advising her, 'Honestly, you don't need this,' before adding, 'You don't have to do this if you don't want... you should reconsider.'

Zacharia later had dinner with Vice President JD Vance and his family at the Naval Observatory.

She also took her family out for lunch and dinner during their trip to Washington, but a diner told the Daily Mail that people recognized them and began taking pictures. The family returned to California the following morning.

Former press secretary Karoline Leavitt, meanwhile, has said she wishes Zacharia and her family well. Leavitt had publicly supported Zacharia when Trump appointed her and reportedly offered her personal advice before her first briefing.

After the briefing faced widespread criticism, Leavitt declined to give reporters a verdict on her successor and avoided subsequent television appearances to give Zacharia space, according to the report.

Leavitt has since confirmed that she is helping Trump find a replacement for the position.

Before going silent on social media, Zacharia shared a photograph with boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr from a campaign trip with Trump.

'You can either be a fighter or a marshmallow,' she wrote, quoting the boxer.
