Katy Perry confirms romance with Justin Trudeau after rejecting fan’s onstage proposal

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC: Looks like Katy Perry just confirmed her romance with Justin Trudeau.

During her Thursday night concert in Prague, the ‘Firework’ hitmaker, 41, made it clear she’s off the market.

Midway through her show, Perry spotted a hopeful fan in the crowd waving a marriage proposal sign.

“This guy is trying to get me to marry him and he has a ring in his hand,” Perry told the audience in a fan video shared online.

“No! I am dating someone else for crying out f*****g loud,” she exclaimed, earning loud cheers from the crowd.

The clip, now viral on social media, shows the singer laughing as fans reacted to her candid response.

Perry, 41, and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 53, have been making headlines since rumors of their relationship first surfaced in July. The pair recently made their relationship public, holding hands in Paris during Perry’s 45th birthday celebration.

Trudeau even gave a playful nod to his new flame on Halloween. The ex-leader shared a photo with his 11-year-old son Hadrien, dressed as a shark next to his son’s surfer costume.

“Ready for Halloween with Hadrien: he’s the surfer, I’m the shark (to his left),” Trudeau captioned the post, referencing their father-son teamwork. Fans were quick to point out the link to Perry’s 2015 Super Bowl halftime show, where her backup dancers famously wore shark suits.

Before their Paris outing, the duo was first seen cozying up at Le Violon, an upscale restaurant in Montreal, in late July.

Perry’s new romance comes months after her split from longtime fiancé Orlando Bloom earlier this year. The former couple shares a five-year-old daughter, Daisy.

Trudeau has also been single since his 2023 separation from Sophie Grégoire, with whom he shares three children, including 16-year-old Ella-Grace Margaret. 

Now, both seem to be embracing a new chapter. Perry gave fans a glimpse of Trudeau during her 41st birthday celebration, sharing photos and clips on Instagram where he appeared in the background cheering her on. 

Insiders close to the couple told People magazine the relationship is genuine. “Justin has been through a lot of change lately, but he’s happier now,” one source said. “He and Katy have a great connection. They laugh a lot and really enjoy each other’s company.”

Another source added, “They’ve been spending as much time together as possible despite their busy schedules. Perry is very happy and trying to keep things low-key, but those close to her say this might be the real deal.”
