I'm so happy for Justin - as are all reasonable Canadians. 👍🏼
This all SHOWS that there is life after politics.

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A video of Katy Perry trying to educate her new beau Justin Trudeau about her fandom have gone viral online, showing a very rare yet fun moment shared between the two.
The clip appeared to be captured around the same time as the new couple made their red carpet debut at the Tribeca Film Festival on Monday, June 8.
Katy Perry explains the difference between Katy-cat and Katy-rat to Justin Trudeau
In the video, the ‘Harleys In Hawaii’ singer asks the former Canadian prime minister, “Do you know the difference between a cat and a rat? Katy-cat and Katy-rat?”
And when Trudeau says, “Why don’t you tell me,” Perry replies, “You know how light cannot exist without the darkness, and that we should just embrace our shadow self. The Katy rats are a little more mischievous than the cats. But that’s because they have a good relationship with themselves, whether that is the nice with the naughty.”
Katy Perry asks Justin Trudeau to 'accept the rat to be the cat'
Her explanation prompted the 54-year-old politician to ask her, “So now I’m a Katy-cat, should I aspire to be a Katy-rat?”
“Umm…maybe actually. Everyone has a little rat inside them. If you think you have no rat, then actually you’re not even a Katy-cat. Then you have to kind of accept the rat to be the cat. Follow that balance, baby,” Perry funnily added.
The video of their interaction gained immense attention online, with a now-deleted X post garnering around one million views.
Katy Perry claims to be 'anchored by' Justin Trudeau's presence
The video came after the 41-year-old pop star called Trudeau “love of my life” during the premiere of her concert film ‘Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour.’
“I feel like a more grounded person in so many aspects of my life,” she revealed, before continuing that she’s “very in love.”
“And actually that show was after I met the love of my life, and so I felt very anchored by that because I’m a little bit like a rainbow kite,” Perry shared.
“I fly super high and like, you know, touch the veil, cosmos, and sometimes I need to be anchored, and so to have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now,” she further added.
The ‘Queen of Camp’ also talked about her “inner butterfly” during the event while urging others to follow theirs.
“I think that, yes, I did follow the butterfly, and I never knew really what the butterfly meant to me. But it was a metamorphosis, and it still continues to be a metamorphosis, and I would give that advice to everyone to follow the inner butterfly inside of them,” she explained.
Katy Perry called it quits with Orlando Bloom in 2025
Before Trudeau, Perry was engaged to English actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a 5-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
They were together for almost a decade before calling it quits in 2025.
At the time, a joint statement from their representative read, “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect,” it added.
