WASHINGTON, DC: Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has urged former president Donald Trump to shift his focus from the size of Vice President Kamala Harris' crowds to more substantive campaign issues.

The call comes amid Trump's ongoing criticism of Harris, including false claims about crowd sizes at her events.

Trump has recently attacked Harris, alleging she used artificial intelligence to inflate the number of supporters in a photo from her event at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

Kevin McCarthy calls out Donald Trump on Kamala Harris' campaign tactics

Kevin McCarthy advised Donald Trump to stop focusing on Kamala Harris' crowd sizes and address her political record instead.

"You've got to make this race not on personalities. Stop questioning the size of her crowds and start questioning her position when it comes to what did she do as attorney general on crime," McCarthy said, during a Fox News interview.

"Question what did she do when she was supposed to take care of the border as the czar," he added. "This is a perfect person to run against."

"You thought John Kerry was a flip-flopper? She has the biggest flip-flop with extreme positions, and you've got a short time to do it. Don't sit back, get out there and start making the case, and use her own words to do it," McCarthy said, as Raw Story reported.

Donald Trump's accuses Kamala Harris of manipulating her crowd size

Donald Trump has been vocal about his disbelief in the crowd size at Kamala Harris' events, particularly accusing her of using AI to fabricate large crowds.

“There was nobody at the plane, and she ‘A.I.’d’ it, and showed a massive ‘crowd’ of so-called followers, BUT THEY DIDN’T EXIST!” Trump wrote on Truth Social, responding to a photo of a Harris' crowd outside a plane at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

“She’s a CHEATER. She had NOBODY waiting, and the ‘crowd’ looked like 10,000 people! Same thing is happening with her fake ‘crowds’ at her speeches,” Trump wrote further.

In response, Harris’ campaign dismissed the allegations, with the KamalaHQ account on X stating, “1) This is an actual photo of a 15,000-person crowd for Harris-Walz in Michigan. 2) Trump has still not campaigned in a swing state in over a week… Low energy?”

Internet warns Kevin McCarthy over his advice to Donald Trump on Kamala Harris' crowd size

Kevin McCarthy’s remarks to Donald Trump have sparked reactions online, with some agreeing with his advice while others criticized his stance.

"So even Kevin McCarthy knows Kamala Harris’ crowds are bigger," one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Another user expressed skepticism about Trump’s ability to heed McCarthy’s advice, writing, "Trump is incapable of making it anything but personality-driven attacks in racist and misogynistic ways."

Others speculated about the potential consequences for McCarthy, with one user warning, "Be careful, @SpeakerMcCarthy, or you may have to spend a few months as coffee boy and boot licker to get back on Trump's good side."

One added, "Why would anyone listen to the former Speaker that was ousted by his own party, especially since he then quit before his term was over?"

However, not all reactions were critical. "He's not wrong," one user wrote, acknowledging the validity of McCarthy's advice. Another user mockingly added, "But why, Kev? It’s so fun!"
