WASHINGTON, DC: Kevin O'Leary of 'Shark Tank' has cautioned Democrats that nominating Vice President Kamala Harris could be a "huge mistake".

In a conversation with Fox News' Rachel Campos-Duffy on Saturday, August 24, O'Leary suggested that the Democrats could be overestimating their position.

The financial expert suggested that there is a significant possibility of having another scenario similar to Hillary Clinton's, after "assuming [Kamala] would win."

He told the outlet, "It’s 50-50, she may win, she may lose. This whole party, the Democratic Party, is going to revisit what happened here because they did the same thing with Hillary Clinton. It was assumed she would win, they anointed her, she lost. Harris is assumed a winner by atonement."

He went on to say, "If she loses, the party will never do this to itself again because they missed the opportunity to run a process and suck up another week of airtime — and they didn’t do it."

O'Leary mentioned California Governor Gavin Newsom, who seemed to ridicule the selection process of Harris as the nominee, Daily Mail reported.

During an episode of 'Pod Save America', when asked about the shift from Biden to Harris, Newsom sarcastically parroted the Democrats' talking points regarding the matter.

He stated, "Now, we went through a very open process, a very inclusive process," and shifted his tone of voice, much to the hosts' delight.

Newsom added, "It was bottom up, I don't know if you know that. That's what I've been told to say."

O'Leary mentioned that Newsom's joke touched on one of the rare points of agreement between the Governor and himself.

He further remarked, "I’m not saying she’s going to lose, but I would have never let that happen if I’m selling a business. I tell my managers, never bring me one offer, bring me a process, show me there’s no other bid out there that I want, then I’ll make a decision if I’m selling. I was amazed they didn’t do that here."

“There may have been other candidates or [Harris] could have emerged much stronger but they didn’t do that,” he said. “That may prove to be a huge mistake.”

Harris secured endorsements from numerous prominent Democrats following Biden's announcement to withdraw from the 2024 election. Other potential candidates, such as Newsom and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, were mentioned by party members.

However, none gained significant support beyond Harris, and Biden's endorsement prompted the party to unite behind her. On the evening of Thursday, August 22, Harris formally accepted the Democratic presidential nomination at the DNC, concluding a week of mobilizing party supporters in Chicago.

Internet slams Kevin O'Leary for his comments

Kevin O' Leary's remark that choosing Kamala Harris as nominee could prove a 'huge mistake' for the Democratic party was not well received by people on the internet.

A user wrote, "Boy stop talking you are not an Expert."

Another added, "MAGA TRARS DETECTED."

The third commentator remarked, "Kevin O' Leary is the Dollar Store Trump. Same look, lower quality and zero value."

"How about you take your opinions back to Canada… where you are a citizen, or is it Ireland or UAE? In any event, you don’t have a horse in this race," one stated.

A person slammed, "You are unworthy of @ABCSharkTank We no longer watch until @kevinolearytv is tanked."

Other chimed in, "Go away. Nobody cares what you think."
