LaGRANGE, GEORGIA: A high school senior in Georgia tragically lost her life after she got involved in a car crash while on her way to see Christmas lights. According to ABC affiliate WSB-TV and The LaGrange Daily News, a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling in the left lane of Georgia State Route 18 when a Chrysler 300 made an improper lane change and hit the backside of the Tahoe. 

The Tahoe subsequently went off the road and flipped over. Kinslee Creed, 17, of LaGrange, was transported to a local hospital and admitted to their intensive care unit, where she died on Sunday, December 17. Creed was riding in the front passenger seat of the Tahoe, per the reports.

A GoFundMe has been set up for Kinslee Creed

According to organizers of a GoFundMe campaign for the victim's family, the Callaway High School senior was on her way to see Christmas lights when the deadly crash occurred.

Creed was a lifelong resident of LaGrange, and worked as a server at both Karvelas and Longhorn restaurants, as per her obituary. She also enjoyed going to the beach and “had a passion for cheerleading since she was a little girl.” “Kinslee was unapologetically herself,” the obituary read, adding “She had a free spirit and personality that attracted everyone she met.”

A moment of silence was held for Kinslee Creed

A moment of silence was held for Creed ahead of the boys' basketball game at her high school on Tuesday, December 19, according to WSB-TV. According to the obituary, visitation for friends will be held on December 26 at 5 pm local time at Baptist Tabernacle. A memorial service will be held the following day at 1 pm.

An investigation into Friday’s crash is ongoing, WSB-TV and the Daily News reported. It is unclear if the driver of the Chrysler has been cited. 

15-year-old Florida student dies after getting hit by school bus

Meaww previously reported that a school bus in Florida struck and killed a fifteen-year-old student. According to investigators, the victim was reportedly trying to cross a road on his bicycle at the time of the incident. His family later recognized him as Jaxon Crabtree via a GoFundMe page.

A press release from the Lakeland Police Department states that at around 7 am local time, police were called to the 3900 block of Pipkin Road in reference to a traffic collision between a bus from Schools of McKeel Academy and a student from Central Florida Aerospace Academy, as reported by People.

Authorities stated, "The Lakeland Fire Department, Polk County Fire Rescue, and the Lakeland Police Department all arrived to begin life-saving measures." After being taken to Lakeland Regional Health, Crabtree was declared dead, according to the statement.

A second report from Lakeland Police stated that the bike was trying to make a left turn northbound onto Medulla Road from the eastbound left turn lane while "the school bus was traveling west on West Pipkin Road approaching Medulla Road" according to the evidence collected.

According to the authorities, Crabtree was struck fatally by the bus because he was in its path, although the inquiry is still underway.
