WASHINGTON, DC: Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump, has sparked attention with a controversial defense of her father-in-law, drawing a parallel between him and a "pretty girl" to explain why people dislike him.

On her podcast 'The Right View with Lara Trump' (Timestamp: 8:25), Eric Trump's wife offered a unique perspective when asked about the widespread disapproval of Trump.

Lara Trump suggests people dislike Donald Trump due to jealousy

When posed with the question, "Why do you think people dislike Trump so much?", Lara smiled faintly before delivering her response, which surprised many. She suggested that people harbor negative feelings toward Trump because he is not the "bad guy" they make him out to be.

"It's almost one of these things, like — they know that he's not the bad guy that they try to make him out to be," Lara said.

While many would consider disapproval of Trump to be linked to his political actions and policies, Lara took a different angle. "Maybe there's some jealousy," she said, implying that people dislike Donald because of his "cool" nature.

Her explanation further developed as she compared the former president to a "pretty girl" entering a group, with others immediately hating her.

"Whenever there's like the pretty girl who kind of comes into the group, and all the girls immediately hate her — Donald Trump is ... like that," Lara explained.

She continued, "He's like this cool ... guy, who really had no business in politics before and was like 'I don't know. I'll give it a shot. ... and it irritates all these people who made their life's work about studying the nuance of this and that and the other, and Donald Trump's like, 'don't really care.'"

In Lara's view, those who dislike Trump are likely "bothered" by how "cool" he is or jealous of his ability to thrive in the political sphere despite not coming from a traditional political background. By drawing this parallel to a "pretty girl," she suggested that people's negative opinions stem from envy and a lack of acceptance.
