MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Laura Ingraham recently took aim at Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, focusing on his apparent love for food and his enjoyment of various culinary treats.

Ingraham, while hosting her show 'The Ingraham Angle', criticized Walz’s penchant for indulgent foods, such as “corn dogs and the all-you-can-drink milk booth at the Minnesota State Fair,” and even dunking “cinnamon rolls in chili.”

Laura Ingraham remarked, “He gets excited about soda. He posts pictures of his sandwiches,” and suggested that despite rising food costs affecting American families, Tim Walz continues to eat with abandon. “Americans should take comfort, even as they see their own food bills, I guess what are they up 30 to 40%?”

Ingraham further extended her critique to Vice President Kamala Harris, noting the unusual food-centric nature of the current presidential campaign. “We're witnessing what might be the most food-centric presidential campaign in American history. Kamala Harris is, by all accounts an exceptional enthusiastic home cook and has made cooking part of her political brand. Surely an intentional calculation.” She added, “Well, they're right about the last part.”

Laura Ingraham's critique compromised by geographic gaffe

However, Laura Ingraham's attempt to critique Tim Walz was marred by a significant error. On August 8, while discussing the alleged decline of Minnesota under Walz’s leadership, she mistakenly referred to Milwaukee as being in Minnesota.

“If you know Minnesota — and I know it well — especially Milwaukee, it’s changed,” she said. She continued, “It has never recovered from 2020 and it is not the same place.”

The error was quickly highlighted by viewers on social media, as Milwaukee is located in Wisconsin, not Minnesota. This gaffe overshadowed her intended critique of Walz and his stances on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Walz, who has served as Minnesota’s governor since 2018 and was recently selected as Kamala Harris’s running mate for the 2024 election, has faced scrutiny from Republicans.

Some have attempted to discredit him by referencing his legislative record, including an education bill that provided menstrual products to schoolgirls, which led to some derogatory nicknames from Trump supporters.

Kamala Harris defends Tim Walz amid criticism

Despite the criticism, Kamala Harris has continued to support Tim Walz vigorously. On the campaign trail, she praised him for his dedication to middle-class families and expressed confidence in their partnership.

Harris stated in a statement, “One of the things that stood out to me about Tim is how his convictions on fighting for middle-class families run deep. It's personal. We are going to build a great partnership. We start out as underdogs but I believe together, we can win this election.”
