DENVER, COLORADO: Rep Lauren Boebert claimed that media attention "dehumanized" and turned the public against her despite agreeing that it helped her rise to fame.

In a recent interview on KHOW-AM radio with host Ross Kaminsky, the Republican lawmaker who switched her congressional district for re-election earlier this year blamed the media for making her unpopular among the public, according to Raw Story.

The widespread media attention played a significant role in Boebert's first victory in the US House of Representatives election by defeating long-time Republican Scott Tipton in the primary for Colorado's 3rd congressional district seat.

During the interview, the host observed that many people did not like Boebert "for whatever reason."

"Part of it is, I mean the media, they do a great job of dehumanizing me, right?" the congresswoman asked in response.

"I mean, you just said you like me as a person. I'm funny. Okay. Well, nobody sees that. That's not not front page headline on The Denver Post," she added.

However, Kaminsky noted that even though her claim was true, Boebert had not always helped herself to avoid such media attention by just being herself.

"I think you kind of don't give a you-know-what about what other people think of you. I mean, you want to win votes. That's what you're doing here. But, I don't think you're out there as a people pleaser generally," the host pointed out.

The Donald Trump ally acknowledged her mixed feelings about being a focus of public attention, referring to the "Beetlejuice" concert from where she was kicked out for vaping and inappropriate conduct.

"I wish I was less on infrared camera; that would be great," Boebert continued, adding her wish to go for a dinner with her sons without being filmed by strangers.

Nevertheless, she admitted her loud behavior in the spotlight earned her a place in the "closed-door meetings with leadership" and the House speaker. In addition, she also attributed her effectiveness in Congress to the media attention.

Internet mocks Lauren Boeberts for whining media attention made her unpopular

Netizens mocked the congresswoman for blaming the media for her unpopularity among the public.

One user wrote, "Actually, it’s the fact she’s utterly vapid. Nice attempt at deflecting by her, though." Meanwhile, another remarked, "Playing the victim is literally their only defensive tactic."

"Nope. It's her Disturbing Behavior that brings Judgement," added a third user. A fourth response read, "That’s public service, ma’am. Can’t handle criticism? It makes you unfit for the job. Go home and leave the job to someone more mature."

Another person said, "Surprising no one, hearing the truth about her turns them against her."

"She should have thought of that before she made a spectacle of herself," someone else asserted.

An individual wrote, "She's all about the camera when she is spewing her Christian Nationalist Agenda but when she can't control the narrative, it's the big bad media that's exposing her for who she really is... sorry Bobo - your 15 minutes is almost up."

Another user added, "The root cause of the public turning against @laurenboebert is Lauren Boebert. Her behavior has been less than stellar. There's no record of work product, no bill, no law, no legislation! You can't blame the media!"

A remark read, "Yes @laurenboebert this is typically what happens when the truth is revealed....if you don't like the truth, then you need to change and become a better human being!!"
