Liberals rejoice as Alex Jones threatens political 'warpath' after Trump takes credit for Covid vaccines
AUSTIN, TEXAS: In an eyebrow-raising turn of events, Alex Jones - a conservative firebrand and staunch ally of former President Donald Trump - has openly criticized the former President's recent claims regarding the acceleration of the Covid-19 vaccine development.
Trump strongly refuted statements President Joe Biden made in his State of the Union address on March 7, when the latter said, "The pandemic no longer controls our lives. The vaccines that saved us from COVID are now being used to help beat cancer, turning setback into comeback."
Alex Jones fumes as Donald Trump takes credit for Covid vaccines
"YOU'RE WELCOME, JOE, NINE-MONTH APPROVAL TIME VS 12 YEARS THAT IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN YOU!" the 45th POTUS responded on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Jones - known for his provocative commentary on his show 'Infowars' - vehemently opposed Trump's assertions, signaling a potential rupture in their political alliance. The commentator lambasted the former president for attempting to take credit for the rapid development and distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine.
During a recent broadcast of Infowars on Monday, March 11, Jones did not mince words, stating, "If I see any more of this from Trump—any more of this—I'm going to have to go on the warpath, politically."

He continued, "I just cannot take this. I cannot put my head down on the pillow at night and say that I'm a true person to everybody when I've already held my nose because of the overwhelming good he's doing, and all the persecution, and put up with stuff like this."
"It'd be like if your mother created this great Thanksgiving meal and cooked for two days to get it ready—and it's this beautiful meal on the table. And your mother comes out and pulls her pants down and s**** all over the table," he quipped.
Jones went on to characterize Trump's remarks as "bulls***," further labeling the vaccine as a "biological weapon," echoing baseless conspiracy theories.
Alex Jones says 'destructive' Donald Trump has 'got his own issues'
The rift between Jones and Trump stems from differing views on the Covid-19 vaccine, with Jones and many other conservatives raising concerns about its safety and efficacy.
Despite being a long-time supporter of Trump, Jones has consistently questioned the government's role in promoting and administering the vaccine, often rejecting Trump's stance on the matter.
"I almost see Trump as destructive because he becomes the opposition to Democrats, but he's got his own issues," Jones told fellow political commentator Tim Pool in November 2021.
About a month later, Trump pushed back against conservative pundit Candace Owens when she questioned the safety and efficacy of the vaccine. The former president insisted at the time that those vaccinated were "protected," while others who remained unvaccinated got very sick and ended up in a hospital.
Jones responded with an "Emergency Christmas Day warning to President Trump."
"You are either completely ignorant about the so-called vaccine gene therapy you helped ram through with Operation Warp Speed, or you're one of the most evil men who has ever lived to push this toxic poison on the public and to attack your constituents when they simply try to save their lives and the lives of others," he said at the time, as quoted by Newsweek.
Internet says even Alex Jones has a problem with Donald Trump
Liberals on social media rejoiced at Jones's criticism of Trump.
"Hurrah, he is flipping," one posted on X.
"The fact that Trump is taking credit for vaccines totally blows Alex‘s pro-Trump/anti-VAX narrative out of the water! Wonder how he’s gonna pivot on this one?" another wondered.
"The vaccine would've been a 'tremendous win' for Trump, but now that ship has sailed and it's all his fault, because his supporters will never accept the vaccine or give him that 'win.' Sad!!" a comment read.
"He’s going to hold his breath and stamp his feet if Trump keeps it up I tell you!" someone else quipped.
"When even Alex Jones disagrees with Trump you know there's a problem," another added.
