Lindsay Clancy GoFundMe raises over $600K for parents Michael and Paula Musgrove amid trial
PLYMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS: A fundraiser launched for Michael and Paula Musgrove is seeking financial support for the couple as they continue attending their daughter Lindsay Clancy's trial in Massachusetts.
The GoFundMe campaign, which has a goal of $2 million, has already raised over $600,000.
Fundraiser launched to support Lindsay Clancy's parents
The fundraiser, organised by Wisconsin resident Brandee Mulligan, is aimed at helping the couple cover personal expenses, including travel, accommodation and living costs, as they remain close to Clancy during the proceedings.
According to the fundraiser, Mulligan is not related to the Clancy or Musgrove families and launched the campaign after seeing people looking for a way to support Clancy’s parents during the trial.
The fundraiser says Michael and Paula have relocated from their Connecticut home to Massachusetts to remain close to their daughter and have attended her court proceedings for more than three years.
The fundraiser specifically states that the money is intended for the personal support of the Musgroves and will not be used for Clancy’s legal defence or legal representation.
Musgroves continue to stand by daughter
The couple has publicly expressed their support for their daughter during the proceedings. Outside the Plymouth courthouse in February, Paula described Clancy as a loving mother, while Michael said the family loved their daughter and would continue supporting her.
The fundraiser says the money will help the Musgroves with their own living expenses and costs connected to remaining near the trial, including travel and temporary accommodation. "The purpose of this fund is to help Mike and Paula rebuild the financial stability they have sacrificed over these past three years," an update reads.
The campaign organiser has also clarified that she will not personally receive, withdraw, manage, or distribute the donated funds.
A separate GoFundMe was previously established for Patrick Clancy, Lindsay’s former husband, following the deaths of the children. That fundraiser included medical, funeral, and legal expenses, unlike the campaign created for the Musgroves.
