WASHINGTON, DC: Conservative influencer Laura Loomer criticized the temporary ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran shortly after it was announced, arguing that the deal did not deliver meaningful outcomes for Washington.

Her remarks came as President Donald Trump described the agreement as a “complete victory.”

The ceasefire, reached hours before a US deadline tied to the Strait of Hormuz, pauses escalating military activity in the region. However, key details of the agreement remain unclear.

Loomer criticizes ceasefire, calls negotiations a ‘failure’

Conservative influencer Laura Loomer sharply criticized the temporary ceasefire, arguing that the United States did not gain meaningful concessions from Iran. In a series of posts on social media platform X, Loomer described the negotiations as a negative outcome for the country.

“We didn’t really get anything out of it and the terrorists in Iran are celebrating,” she wrote. Loomer also questioned the durability of the agreement, predicting it would not hold.

She said the ceasefire “will fail” and added that Trump would be “proven right” in his earlier stance that the Iranian regime “needs to be wiped out...  the negotiation has been a failure so those who are celebrating while undermining Trump are misguided,” she added. “This isn’t anything to write home about.”

She further warned about potential long-term consequences, suggesting Iran could use financial mechanisms tied to the agreement to strengthen its position.

Loomer said Iran could use collections from shipping transit fees to “pad their bank accounts” and fund extremism "for decades to come.”

“The second Trump is gone, they will build a nuclear weapon and attack the US and Israel,” she wrote.

In additional posts, Loomer expressed skepticism about the ceasefire’s viability and said the Iranian regime was “now more legitimized and emboldened” than before.

“Luckily President Trump wasn’t in charge of the negotiations,” she wrote, adding concerns that the agreement could fail and lead to future attacks.

Trump calls deal a “complete victory” amid tensions

The ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran was reached just hours before Trump’s initial 8 pm EDT deadline for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face potential strikes on infrastructure targets.

The truce, mediated by Pakistan, temporarily halts escalating military activity, though key details remain unresolved.

The exact terms of the agreement, including provisions related to Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, have not been fully disclosed.

Trump said early on Wednesday, April 8, that Iran would not enrich uranium and that the US would work with the country to “dig up and remove” buried materials, but there has been no confirmation from Iranian officials.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Iran indicated the agreement could formalize a plan to charge transit fees for ships passing through the channel.

Trump also said the US was considering a “joint venture” with Iran to establish a toll system to manage the strategic waterway, through which about one-fifth of the world’s oil supply moves daily.
