INDIO, COACHELLA: New details have emerged in Madonna’s missing Coachella costume case, with reports suggesting the outfit may have fallen off a golf cart.

Authorities in Indio shared more details about the missing items. They confirmed that a representative for the 67-year-old singer filed a missing property report after two bags containing clothing and jewelry disappeared from the festival grounds.

The items were last seen on a golf cart, raising the possibility that they were accidentally lost during transit. Among the missing pieces is the vintage outfit Madonna wore on stage while making a guest appearance during Sabrina Carpenter’s Weekend Two headlining set.

The singer later addressed the situation on Instagram, asking for help in locating the outfit. She described it as a significant piece of her history.

Police probe suggests Madonna’s outfit fell off cart

According to PEOPLE, staff members were using a golf cart to move the bags and drove it to a bus. When they later reached a hotel, they realized the bags were missing.

Police said their early investigation points to an accident rather than theft. The cart was driven on a dark and bumpy road, so the bags may have fallen off during the ride. As stated in the report,

"There is no evidence to suggest the bags were intentionally stolen."

So far, the missing items have not been found or turned in. Authorities have asked anyone who finds the bags to return them to 46800 Jackson St in Indio, California, or contact the police at 760-391-4057.
