Magic Johnson urges Black men to vote for Kamala Harris, claims Trump 'did not deliver' on his promises

FLINT, MICHIGAN: NBA legend Magic Johnson delivered an astounding speech at Kamala Harris' campaign rally held a rally in Flint, Michigan, on Friday, October 4.

During his appearance at the event, one of the state's most iconic athletes emphasized that Black men should vote conscientiously.



 

Magic Johnson reminds Black community of Donald Trump's unfulfilled promises

Magic Johnson grew up in Lansing and went to Michigan State University, which is situated in the state capital. He has consistently supported the Democratic Party, having endorsed Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in the past.

Johnson stated that Black men should recognize that Donald Trump failed to fulfill the promises he made to the Black community. Therefore, they ought to consider voting for Harris, according to Johnson.

"Now, there's a lot of Black men in here … our Black men. We gotta get them out to vote, that's Number 1," Johnson said. "Kamala's opponent promised a lot of things last time to the Black community that he did not deliver on."

He went on to say, "We gotta make sure we help Black men understand that. So, that's why I'm here — to make sure I help Black men understand first, get out and vote, and then vote for the next president of the United States, Kamala Harris."

Magic Johnson trolled for urging people to vote for Kamala Harris

As the video of Magic Johnson encouraging Black men to vote for Kamala Harris surfaced on social media, social media users took to X to mock the NBA legend and accused him of "gaslighting" the community. 

One X user said, "He’s not the best person to be getting advice from!"



 

Another wrote, "Another dude who wants to remain on the plantation. Trump delivered for everyone. Kamala did not. No amount of gaslighting will chance that."



 

One commentator remarked, "His life is a storyboard filled with mistakes. He is an example that age doesn't bring wisdom to everyone."



 

"Black men (and all men) need to vote for Trump. Trump and team represent the only path to restoring the American dream for all," a Trump supporter expressed.



 

"Old hollyweird Magic don't give a rip about Flint, or he would have helped by now. same with Harris. she's ineffective," one individual stated.



 

Another wrote, "You just ruined your reputation."
