WASHINGTON, DC: Over two years ago, Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene escalated her attacks against the Equality Act by installing a sign outside her Congressional office saying, “There are two genders: male and female,” stated a report by The Independent, which also noted that this sign came into place after a transgender flag was placed outside her office.

In 2023, Greene introduced a bill titled Protect Children's Innocence Act. A press release on Greene’s official government website, states that this bill “will make it illegal to perform any ‘gender-affirming’ care on minors.”

It also stated, “This includes puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and sex-change surgeries. Children who are not allowed to drive, vote, or see an R-rated movie should not be allowed to make life-altering decisions that will forever alter their precious bodies.”

With the year coming to an end, Greene urged others to “pass the bill” in order to “stop the insanity.” but the internet was far from impressed.

Marjorie Taylor Greene says ‘there are only two sexes’

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote, “There are only two sexes. Male and female.”

She added, “Brain washing confused children to believe they can change their gender/sex is one of the most evil lies ever told to the most innocent people.”

“But cutting off their breast and genitals is even worse. Pass my bill, Protect Children’s Innocence Act, to stop the insanity!” expressed the congresswoman on the social media platform.

Majorie Taylor Greene faces backlash on X

After Marjorie Taylor Greene stood her ground and declared to her followers on social media that there are only “two sexes,” she received a quick response as people resorted to ridicule and mockery against the congresswoman.

One user questioned, “What makes you qualified to decide that for anyone other than yourself?” and another wrote, “First, I don’t agree with this, but 2nd, let’s take up a platform that affects ~.6% of the population and this includes adults. Try working for the people.”

“Republicans: we hate big government. Also republicans: we want to control every aspect of your life,” expressed one user. Another person added, “No wonder so many people hate you, even your own party does at this point... damn.”

Greene continued to face backlash online as one user also said, “How bout you just mind your own business? You have plenty of real problems to deal with,” and another declared, “You are wrong and probably know it and should know better.”
