NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene had a lighthearted response when asked about her reportedly strained relationship with President Donald Trump during an appearance on ABC’s 'The View' on Tuesday morning.

When co-host Joy Behar brought up recent reports that Trump and several members of the Republican Party were frustrated with Greene’s outspoken criticism of GOP leadership during the ongoing government shutdown, the Georgia lawmaker brushed it off with a laugh.

“Well, that’s OK. I mean, Donald Trump, he usually yells at everybody. So, we’re all used to it,” Greene said, prompting laughter from the studio audience.

Marjorie Taylor Greene says she still loves Donald Trump

Greene quickly clarified that despite any current tension, her admiration for the president hasn’t changed.

“I did not date Donald Trump,” she joked after Behar quipped that her own favorite president was Harry Truman, a running gag on the show about her age. “But I do love him,” Greene added, smiling.

The congresswoman’s comments came amid speculation about divisions within the GOP as the government shutdown continues into its fourth week.

Greene, a staunch Trump ally, has publicly criticized party leadership in recent days, particularly House Speaker Mike Johnson, for what she described as a lack of urgency in resolving the budget impasse.

“When I first ran for Congress, my campaign was built on criticizing members of both parties,” Greene told the hosts. “So I have no problem pointing fingers at everyone. And the worst thing that I just can’t get over is we’re not working right now. And I put that criticism directly on the Speaker of the House, and we should be at work.”

The congresswoman has drawn both praise and backlash from within her own ranks for her willingness to challenge Republican leadership. Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Trump had expressed frustration with Greene in private conversations, allegedly calling her unhelpful as negotiations over federal spending stalled.

Despite those reports, Greene struck a light and confident tone on ‘The View’, emphasizing that political disagreements don’t change her loyalty. “He’s still my favorite president,” she said firmly.

Throughout the segment, Behar and her co-hosts including Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin pressed Greene on how her public criticism affects party unity. But Greene appeared unfazed, maintaining that her role as a lawmaker requires accountability above all else.

“I came to Washington to fight for the people who sent me there,” she said. “That means speaking up when I see something wrong even if it makes people mad.”

Greene ended the interview with a smile, reaffirming that she has no hard feelings toward Trump and that the two share the same goal: ‘putting America first’.
