WASHINGTON, DC: Former Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene mocked President Donald Trump on Wednesday, March 11, tying his decision to pursue military action against Iran to his repeated assertions that he does not expect to reach heaven.

The Georgia Republican, who resigned from Congress in January after clashing with Trump over the release of Jeffrey Epstein files, accused the administration of breaking core “America First” campaign promises against new foreign wars and regime change.

Marjorie Taylor Greene goes scorched earth on Trump after Kentucky visit

“Under President Trump, U.S. Military servicemen and women are being killed and injured, reportedly at higher numbers than we are being told and innocent children were killed at a school in Iran by U.S. bombs,” Greene posted on X (formerly Twitter).

She added that oil prices are “skyrocketing,” tankers are being bombed, and Trump “released half of our Strategic Oil Reserves” to ease gas prices.

The Georgia Republican noted that Trump spent the day in Kentucky criticizing Rep Thomas Massie (R-KY) and her over past votes rather than addressing the conflict.

"And with all this, President Trump, who promised Americans 'no more foreign wars, no more regime change' spent the day in Kentucky telling approximately 500 Fox News brainwashed boomers (most not even from the district) that Massie is bad because Massie didn’t vote for Trump’s COVID lockdowns and COVID bailouts and COVID vaccines in 2020," she continued, "and because Massie (and me) voted to release the Epstein files which embarrassed a bunch of the President’s friends."

She concluded, “Maybe it has something to do with him not believing he’s going to heaven, which is extremely concerning by the way!” adding that "by the time Trump’s presidency and wars are over, we will be nearing $60 trillion dollars in debt and the only man in Washington that will have voted NO to all the insanity will be Thomas Massie."

MAGA rift over foreign entanglements

Greene also didn't hold back during an appearance on Megyn Kelly’s SiriusXM show earlier this month. She questioned Trump’s “mental state” in light of his age and faith comments.

“Donald Trump has said repeatedly on camera and in interviews, he doesn’t think he’s going to heaven,” Greene told Kelly. “What is in his mind? What is his mental state if he doesn’t think he’s going to heaven, and he is a man towards the end — he’s in the fourth quarter — he’s towards the end of his life? How does that pan out for the rest of us?” she asked.

The strikes on Iran began on February 28 when the US joined Israel in coordinated attacks on Iranian military and nuclear-related targets. Trump has described the operation as necessary to prevent Tehran from developing missiles capable of reaching the US and to curb its nuclear ambitions. Administration officials have painted the action as preemptive and limited, with no plans for ground troops.

Yet the conflict has produced immediate costs. Oil prices surged as attacks disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. American casualties have been reported, though exact figures remain disputed. Greene and other MAGA figures, including Tucker Carlson, have called the operation a betrayal of Trump’s campaign promises to avoid endless Middle East wars.

One Greene post from late February labeled the administration’s rationale “head-spinning” and warned of voter backlash.

Trump projects confidence about the Iran operation

Regardless, Trump seems rather confident about the Iran operation’s progress.

In recent days, he told reporters the US has “decimated” Iran’s navy, anti-aircraft systems, and leadership, claiming “what’s left in Iran could be taken out in an hour.” At one point, he declared the US has "won" the war, adding that Tehran “didn’t expect anything like this.”

In a phone interview, the commander-in-chief said the conflict “is very complete, pretty much” and that the US is “very far ahead of schedule.” Yet he has also warned that operations could intensify if Iran threatens global energy flows and has stopped short of ruling out further escalation.

At a Miami event with Republican lawmakers, Trump said the US has “already won in many ways, but we haven’t won enough.”

The administration denies reports that Iran has captured US soldiers and maintains the strikes target only military sites.
