WASHINGTON, DC: On Christmas Eve, former president Donald Trump shared a message on Truth Social as he defended his case on why he is “entitled” to immunity.

CBS News recently reported that Trump’s legal team has asked a federal appeals court to throw out the criminal case alleging he violated multiple criminal statutes in his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election as they argued that Trump possesses “presidential immunity”.

In his post on Truth Social, the former President claimed that “of course” he was “entitled” to immunity and also asked to “stop the witch hunt,” a message which his supporter and Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene also shared.

Along with this Greene shared a screenshot of Donald Trump’s post on Truth Social where the former president addressed the immunity he was allegedly “entitled to.”

Trump wrote, “I wasn’t campaigning, the election was over. I was doing my duty as President to expose and further investigate a rigged and stolen election. It was my obligation to do so, and the proof found is voluminous and irrefutable.”

He added, “Therefore, among other reasons, of course I am entitled to immunity. Additionally, I did nothing wrong. Stop the witch hunt now!”

Marjorie Taylor Greene faces backlash on X

After congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene amplified former president Donald Trump’s message on immunity and stopping the “witch hunt” against him, the internet was quick to respond as they resorted to mockery and ridicule.

One user wrote, “You can both keep saying it, but it doesn't make it true. 👍🏻,” while another wrote, “*Marjorie Taylor Greene = Corrupt.”

“Stop the victim mentality now!” expressed one user on X.

Another wrote, “Hey, we found the witch.  it’s YOU!”

Greene continued to face backlash on the social media platform as one user mocked, “She said ‘NOW’ so she must be angry and really mean it. They better get on that as quick as possible,” while another wrote, “You’re tiresome.”
