WASHINGTON, DC: Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene shared a picture of a receipt on the social media platform X in an attempt to endorse former President Donald Trump's plan for 'no tax on tips', according to Buzzfeed.

Notably, during his recent private meeting with Senate Republicans, Trump made light of the fact that his new campaign slogan—which calls for eliminating taxes on tips—has helped him become quite popular with the caddies at his golf course near Mar-a-Lago.

On Saturday, June 15, Greene shared a picture of a receipt along with the caption, "I absolutely LOVE President Trump’s plan for NO TAX ON TIPS!! Write it on every receipt you sign!"

However, the details of the $601 receipt were blacked out and it is not clear what the receipt was about.

Notably, the senators have applauded Trump's idea, and he is expected to bring it up again when he courts working-class voters in battleground states like Nevada, Arizona, and Georgia for his rematch with President Joe Biden this fall, stated NBC News.

In a previous meeting with House Republicans, Trump reportedly expressed his wish to eliminate tip taxes, according to Rep Tim Burchett, who also stated that Trump told members how a waitress had given him the idea.

Calling Trump's proposal "smart politics," Burchett, a Trump ally, said on Monday, June 17, "This thing has really just organically caught fire."

As they departed last week after hearing Trump's comments in a different closed-door meeting, three Republican senators brought up his tax and tips proposal without being asked.

Internet trolls Greene as she shares pic of receipt endorsing Trump’s plan

Greene's apparent endorsement of the plan invited scathing comments on X, where one user wrote, "Great way to launder money and influence people. Smart," while another added, "What are you spending $600 on? You think you’re better than us?"

A person stated, "Wouldn't have to worry about a few pennies on a tip if Trump had kept his 2016 promise to provide tremendous healthcare to all the workers," whereas someone else mentioned, "I think you haven't come to the realization that nobody really wonders or even cares about your opinions, especially about the convicted felon."

A user wrote, "Here's a tip. You're going to need the House and the Senate to actually pass it. Trump can't do it all by himself, but I'm sure you all know this."
