Mary Trump blasts Don Jr as ‘racist’ and ‘misogynist’ during wedding weekend rant
WASHINGTON, DC: Mary Trump, the estranged niece of Donald Trump and a frequent Trump critic, launched another attack on Donald Trump Jr during his wedding weekend, calling the president’s eldest son “misogynist” and “racist.”
She unleashed a barrage of attacks as she urged viewers not to sympathize with him over President Donald Trump's absence from the nuptials.
Don Jr is tying the knot with Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson during an intimate Bahamas ceremony this weekend, but Trump confirmed Friday that he plans to skip the event.
Mary Trump calls eldest son ‘racist, horrible’
Mary Trump launched a blistering attack on Donald Trump Jr during an appearance on The Dean Obeidallah Show, dismissing sympathy over his father’s absence from his wedding and branding him “racist,” “misogynist,” and a “terrible person.”
The remarks came after host Dean Obeidallah brought up Donald Trump’s decision to skip Don Jr’s wedding to Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson in favor of attending a political event in New York.
“Donnie is a horrible human being. He’s a little Nazi. He is totally unaccomplished and he’s a racist and a misogynist and just a terrible person,” Mary Trump said. “So don’t waste your time feeling bad for him.”
The exchange later turned sarcastic as Obeidallah joked about whether Mary Trump planned to attend the wedding herself.
She responded that she “might go,” joking there was “apparently a spot open” because of the president’s absence.
“I’ll walk him down the aisle. Or something,” she added.
Trump to skip son’s wedding
On Friday, May 22, Trump announced that he would be skipping the big day. “While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr, and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time. Congratulations to Don and Bettina.”
The wedding, set to take place in the Bahamas, had been uncertain in Trump’s schedule for several days, with the president himself previously suggesting he was unsure whether he could attend.
